Hello everyone!
Many people have asked me how one of my signet rings is actually made, so I thought I’d give you a quick look behind the scenes.
Every project starts with an idea, a coat of arms, or a custom design. From there, I create a grayscale image, a depth map, and then build a detailed 3D relief model. Once the model is complete, it’s prepared specifically for laser engraving.
The engraving itself is only one part of the process. After that, each ring goes through magnetic tumbling, machine polishing, detailed hand finishing with a Dremel, and finally a complete hand polish to bring out every detail.
If you already have a high-quality 3D model of your design, a large part of the preparation can be skipped, making the entire process much faster and more straightforward.
I enjoy sharing what happens behind the scenes because every finished ring represents much more than the engraving itself—it’s the result of design, craftsmanship, and attention to every small detail.
