U četvrtak smo imali priliku ugostiti Thomasa Ankersmita s izvedbom The Tcherepnin Series (Music for the Original Serge Synthesizers) u sklopu 17. izdanja Audioart - experimental and improvised music festival.
Tijekom proteklih dvadeset godina, Thomas Ankersmit se specijalizirao za Serge Modular analogni sintisajzer. Kroz ovaj instrument kanalizira inspiraciju iz musique concrète, elektroakustičke improvizacije i psihoakustičke zvučne umjetnosti.
U ovom novom projektu, Ankersmit se vraća izvoru: stvaranju glazbe za velike, originalne Serge sustave smještene u povijesnim studijima diljem svijeta. Ove godine radio je na Sveučilištu Harvard, Sveučilištu Columbia, CalArtsu u Los Angelesu, EMS studiju u Stockholmu, GRM-u u Parizu i Willem Tweeu u Den Boschu. Rezultat ovog rada bit će predstavljen na odabranim koncertima i na nadolazećem albumu.
Festival Audioart okuplja umjetnike koji rade na područjima eksperimentalne i improvizirane glazbe, audiovizualnih instalacija i performansa, zvučne umjetnosti i snimanja na terenu.

On Thursday, we had the pleasure of hosting Thomas Ankersmit with a performance of The Tcherepnin Series (Music for the Original Serge Synthesizers) as part of the 17th edition of the Audioart Festival.
Over the past twenty years, Thomas Ankersmit has specialised in the Serge Modular analogue synthesiser. Through this instrument he channels inspiration from musique concrète, electroacoustic improvisation and psychoacoustic sound art.
In this new project, Ankersmit returns to the source: creating music for the large, original Serge systems located in historic studios around the world. This year, he has worked at Harvard University, Columbia University, CalArts in Los Angeles, the EMS studio in Stockholm, GRM in Paris, and Willem Twee in Den Bosch. The result of this work will be presented at selected concerts and on the forthcoming album.
The Audioart festival brings together artists working in the fields of experimental and improvised music, audiovisual installations and performances, sound art and field recording.
We thank Thomas Ankersmit for bringing his work into our gallery space and everyone else who joined us on the opening night!
