The church of Saint Gerolim on the island of Hvar in Stari Grad has been lovingly restored becoming a charming small gallery for Croatian artists and their artworks. On the front is a quatrefoil rosette and a Romanesque relief of St. Jerome and an inscription in the Venetian dialect reminding everyone who enters the oratory to first reconcile themselves with God and their fellows. In 1976 the church was turned into a gallery of contemporary art.
