U utorak govorimo o radu, zvuku, materijalu i pokušaju da se umjetničkim postupkom dotakne ono što inače ostaje nevidljivo.
Veselim se razgovoru — vidimo se 31. 03. u 18 h.

Thrilled to have been part of the exhibition House of Learning Systems at VIENNA ART WEEK 2025 (November 7–15) in the historic Funkhaus Wien.

Curated by Robert Punkenhofer and Işın Önol, the exhibition brought together nearly 90 works by 38 artists from 14 countries, exploring how knowledge is produced, transmitted, and transformed across nature, technology, history, and society.

My work appears in the video at 0:56.

Sound Imprints – performance @
Museum of Contemporary Art (MSU), Zagreb, 2026

The show is open from 24.02.2026 - 24.05.2026.

Video documentation of a performance from the Sound Imprints series, presented as part of the exhibition Ecologies of the Bauhaus – Networks of Continuity at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Zagreb.

In this work, sound waves shape the distribution of toner on aluminum plates, producing stochastic visual compositions. During the performance, images emerge in real time through the interaction of sound, material, and physical processes.

The works created during the performance are later framed and exhibited in the gallery alongside a two-channel video documentation of the process.

The exhibition Ecologies of the Bauhaus – Networks of Continuity explores whether the historical Bauhaus can be interpreted from an ecological perspective—not only as a theme but as a way of thinking. Ecology is understood as a network of relations between materials and ideas, past and present practices, art, and everyday life.

Otisci zvuka – performans, MSU Zagreb, 2026

Robo-Futures

11–14 February 2026 — Delft transformed into a playground of robots, art and technology during Highlight Festival.

Is This Life? was part of this year’s programme.

The installation is a joint production between Highlight Festival and iii – instrument inventors initiative.

Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia, Kultura nova Foundation and the City of Zagreb.

Special thanks to .banko (ceramics), (mechanics, electronics & software), and the team for the fantastic exhibition production and ongoing support.

Until next time.

Two weeks ago at Highlight Festival 2026 – Symposium Robotic Relations.

An interactive session exploring how humans and robots negotiate shared physical environments — through movement, proximity, and embodied interaction.

A pleasure to share the dialogue with Animaspace (Angelina Kozhevnikova), Marco Rozendaal, and David Abbink.

From yesterday’s opening of Bauhaus Ecologies – Webs of Continuity at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb.

I am presenting my work Sound Imprints and performed live at the opening of the exhibition — activating the surface as a site of recording, resonance, and trace.

More videos and photos coming soon.

A closer look at the making of the ceramic spheres for "Is This Life?"

As the final stage of the project, I invited Rino Banko, an exceptional ceramicist, to produce five ceramic spheres that form the physical bodies of the robots. Each sphere has walls only 5–6 mm thick, a diameter of 36–37 cm, and weighs around 4.5 kg.

Producing hollow ceramic forms of this scale and thinness is an extraordinary technical challenge - structurally, materially, and in the firing process itself. Rino approached this with remarkable precision and sensitivity, successfully translating a demanding technical specification into a fragile yet robust physical form.

A glimpse into the process behind "Is This Life?"

I’ve been developing the spherical robots for Is This Life? on and off since 2017, moving between the studio and research environments. Early stages of the project in involved collaboration with researchers at the LARICS Lab, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, University of Zagreb, focusing on tracking systems and swarm behaviour.

The project later continued through a residency within TU Delft’s Crossing Parallels programme in 2020, where the focus towards locomotion systems and the electronics embedded inside the spheres. Alongside this, the physical body of the robots was developed in collaboration with ceramicist Rino Banko, who created the 5 mm-thin porcelain shells that form their fragile outer layer.

Throughout the development, the project evolved as a collective effort, involving students and PhD researchers from technical universities in Zagreb and Delft, bringing together robotics, material research, and artistic experimentation.

Produced by Highlight Festival and iii.

U današnjem nedjeljnom izdanju Glasa Istre (28.12.2025.) izašao je moj intervju na dvije stranice.

Ne o „budućnosti tehnologije“, nego o sadašnjosti u kojoj živimo:
AI kao alat destabilizacije percepcije, proizvodnje apsurda i gubitka smisla.

Tekst o umjetnosti koja nije puka proizvodnja slike, nego prostor promišljanja i otpora.

-

In today’s Sunday edition of Glas Istre (28.12.2025), a two-page interview with me was published.

Not about the “future of technology”, but about the present we are already living in:
AI as a tool for destabilising perception, producing absurdity, and eroding meaning.

A text about art that is not merely the production of images, but a space for reflection and resistance.
