From 2009 - 2013, Dubrovnik Shakespeare Festival led a Quixotic campaign to represent the beautiful old town beyond the mass tourism which had overtaken it. Only 800 Croatian residents of the Old Town then remaining, with as many as 15,000 daily visitors disgorged by the cruise ships bearing down on it, it is an effort the entire DSF team remains proud of, and one which must continue.
