Alex has spearheaded and completed a series of collaborative projects with communities in the UK, India, Brazil, Vietnam, China, and the Philippines through his studio Eriksson Furunes. He is currently doing an Artistic PhD entitled “Learning from Bayanihan/Dugnad” (NTNU, 2016-2021) that explores the role of these traditions in participative planning, design, and building processes—a critical reflection of his previous and ongoing collaborative projects in Asia and Europe. His project in Norway, “Dugnad Days,” was featured at the Oslo Architecture Triennale 2019.
Sudar is a former associate at Leandro V. Locsin Partners, Sudar acts as the principal of i.incite design and is currently exploring critical construction as a means to express shared meanings through architecture. He was a co-curator of “Muhon: Traces of an Adolescent City” at the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale.
Sudar and Alex worked on the Streetlight Tagpuro, a post-disaster rebuilding project in Tacloban after super-typhoon Haiyan. For the project, they won the 2019 World Architecture Festival Small Project of the Year.

Orient Occident Atelier | OOA is an interdisciplinary architectural, interior and urban design studio. We focus on discovering, researching and utilizing the interdependence of “objects” and connections with surrounding space as design inspirations. OOA encompasses modern interpretations of Eastern and Western aesthetics while integrating nature and function.
OOA is co-founded by Magic Kwan and Kenrick Wong. Kenrick is a registered architect in Hong Kong, co-founder of OOA and AGS registered charity, and has over 10 years of architectural community project and film production experiences in Hong Kong, Cambodia and Southeast Asia. While Magic, a graduate of UC Berkeley and HKU with First Class Honour, is the co-founder of OOA having over 12 years of professional and teaching experiences in the US, Japan and Hong Kong focusing on community, environment and fabrication techniques.
