Stephen’s community with a platform for alumnus from all generations with The College and its Preparatory School to persude music as life-time passion.

大家還記得以下港產片的場景嗎？陳百強和張國榮著住緊身校服及喇叭長褲在校園一角追逐、李治廷在沙麈滾滾充滿碎石的運動場參加賽跑、鍾雪瑩和周漢寧在學校小食部討論填詞心得、謝君豪和蔡少芬在浪漫小教堂行禮結婚，還有郭富城和陳慧琳在鳳凰木盛放的學校廣場青草地被一班小演員圍著起哄！

上述的電影場景有一個共通點：在赤柱聖士提反書院校園內取景。

《光影裡的鐘聲》是一首由聖士提反書院舊生合唱團特約委托伍卓賢先生編曲的混聲四部合唱作品，包含五套在不同年代於聖士提反校園取景的香港電影主題曲，分別是八十年代的《失業生》、九十年代的《仙樂飄飄》、年禧年代的《天作之盒》、《歲月神偷》以及近年的《填詞L》。

合唱團昨晚在中環大會堂開始練習，準備在六月二十八日於西九龍戲曲中心大劇院舉行的「聖士提反音樂會2026」首演這首作品。

感謝唐少偉教授的邀請，作為2025世界合唱節-香港的其中一場星級音樂會，我們昨晚在香港文化中心音樂廳舉行的「唐少偉教授感恩分享55年」音樂會中演出香港作曲家黃旨穎的粵語混聲四部合唱作品《不散》，並有機會觀摩來自印尼、匈牙利、中國大陸、俄羅斯、瑞典以及本港其他頂尖藝團的合唱演出，獲益良多。

今天的練習非常順利，我們非常有信心星期三在香港文化中心音樂廳的演出能夠為觀眾帶來美好的音樂。

This afternoon at the St. Stephen’s College Chapel, the St. Stephen’s College Alumni Choir presented an ensemble team with ten singers to sing two hymns at the memorial service of Revd Handforth, who served the College and the Preparatory School as Warden and Supervisor, as well as the College Principal from 1965 to 1973. He passed away at this home in U.K. two months ago.

It’s our honour to paid tribute to Revd Handforth for his legendary contributions to St. Stephen’s with particularly two milestone events, the College and the Preparatory School transformation from a boys school to a coeducational school, and the College from a private school to a government subsidiary school.

All singers from Alumni Choir this afternoon were born after Revd Handforth’s departure from St. Stephen’s in 1973, yet it’s our responsibility to recognize his leadership and contribution as part of our enriched heritage.

Also it’s our great privilege to sing at The Chapel in memory’s for those who fallen, in action or during imprisonment as POW in Stanley Internment Camp, POW camps in Argyle Street and Sham Shui Po, Lisbon Maru Tragedy and other POW camps across the Pacific Theatre, during The World War II.

It was emotional when the organist from the St. John’s Cathedral played Elgar’s “Nimrod” before the service.
