Tiina Törmänen's artwork depicts the untamed nature of the underwater world. The image captures the massive algal blooms at the bottom of a lake - now dying off and appearing fragile, dark violet, like disintegrating silk threads. This piece is part of a personal series that narrates an emotional growth story.

On World Elephant Day, let us remember that these gentle giants are not just majestic creatures, but also sentient beings with their own thoughts, feelings, and emotions. They are part of our interconnected web of life, and we have a responsibility to protect them.

'Elephants are one of the most intelligent and emotional animals on the planet. They deserve our respect and our protection. We are not separate from the universe, we are a part of it.

“We set up this shot after a miserable day of shooting dirt bikes through the pine forest,” says artist Tim Harris. “We had some old flares we strapped to some poles and built a jump out of old timber. For about five minutes the sun popped out and everyone was suddenly perky again. This particular rider started up his bike again, gave his largest run-up of the day and sent it across the open field we were shooting on. The light, the wind and the rider were all in sync for this moment creating an Evel Knieval like moment and becoming one of my favourite images to date.”
