“ANSWER with your ART”
「藝術有/沒有標準答案」
Artist Profile:
Sui Ming Chu is a concert pianist ( GGSM), an experienced teacher of Dalcroze Eurhythmics ( Bachelor of Arts HES-SO in music and movement, Institute Jaques Dalcroze,Geneva 2009), and a movement specialist (Specialist diploma in Choreological studies, Trinity Laban, UK 2018).
She teaches many levels from schools, tertiary education to professional musicians and dancers in HK and China. She taught in HKAPA, Shanghai Orchestra Academy and many art festivals. She is now teaching in HK Baptist university and engaging in developing a music and movement program for local primary school in Shenzhen. She is also a frequent presenter at international congresses.
Workshop Outline:
The Dalcroze method, also known as Dalcroze Eurhythmics, incorporates the basic elements of music—rhythm, melody, harmony—with body movement, to provide a multi-dimensional approach to music learning. Beyond musical intelligence, the Dalcroze approach engages and exercises several other aspects of intelligence. Musical games and experiments engage logical thinking. Eurhythmics appeals to kinesthetic and spatial types of learners. The social quality of music-making develops communication, feeling, and empathy. Dalcroze is fun! It has the physicality of sports, aesthetic appeal of the arts, and is mentally challenging, for all ages!
