The Hong Kong Chapter was chartered in October 1959. Regular meetings are held with a business year starting on 1 July through 30 June, providing members with a regular forum

in which to study Ikebana, hold exhibitions, see some of the world's masters at work, enjoy the meeting of people from many countries and travelling to regional and world conferences, whilst enjoying "friendship through flowers".

Annual Outing - Visit to CHAT

Members and friends enjoyed a day outing to CHAT (Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile) to learn about the history of textiles in Hong Kong on 8 April 2026.
The group explored the exhibitions, gained insight into the city’s industrial past, and appreciated the role textiles have played in local culture and daily
life. 🪡👕

The outing was a successful and enriching experience for all the attendees. It successfully combined education, culture and social bonding.

4 February 2026

Members gathered at the Country Club for Chinese New Year theme Workshop. After ikebana demonstration at the stage, Makiko moved to a long table where she conducted a tutorial on folding origami cranes (祝い鶴). Everyone was patient and focused on the paper folding. As
they began, some fingers fumbled, but soon smiling faces appeared as crisp cranes took shape. Participants then returned to their respective seats with their completed origami cranes to incorporate them into their ikebana arrangements. Makiko reviewed their work, provided individualized guidance on the ikebana arrangements and how to best feature the cranes in their ikebana designs.
