Thank you for all your support on 17 May at the Phoenix Choral Collage 2025! The 4 choirs, Diocesan Choral Society .choral.society , Fluente Chorus , Hong Kong Youth Choir , and The Chinese University of Hong Kong had come together and brought an exceptional performance to the audience. Conducted by Mr. Felix Shuen , the Artistic Director of Phoenix Choral Projects, all 4 choirs joined forces and performed Dona Nobis Pacem from Mass in B Minor by J S Bach, an impressive finale! Tomorrow, Diocesan Choral Society diocesan.choral.society, Fluente Chorus fluentechorus , Hong Kong Youth Choir hongkongyouthchoir and The Chinese University of Hong Kong Chorus cuchorus will join together on stage to perform Dona Nobis Pacem from Mass in B Minor by J.S.Bach as Finale in the concert!

They have come together last week to rehearse with Mr Felix Shuen, the conductor and Artistic Director of Phoenix Choral Projects, and worked on the piece together. They will bring an amazing performance of Dona Nobis Pacem tomorrow! Come and witness the moment together!

Last but not least, we have the Chinese University of Hong Kong Chorus ! The choir was established in 1972, and has been bringing different genres of choral music to the society. This time in the Phoenix Choral Collage, they will bring 3 Cantonese pieces:

張敬軒（黃歷琛編）：隱形遊樂場
Hins Cheung (arr. Alexander Wong): Imaginary Fairground
黃學揚：愛在天堂口（選自合唱組曲《太平山之疫》）
Alfred Wong: Love at Heaven’s Gate (from Choral Suite “1894 Hong Kong Plague”)
Frankie Ho：媒人（選自合唱組曲《開嘆情》）
Frankie Ho: Cursing the Matchmaker (from Choral Suite “The Crying Bride and the Bridal Party”)

Hong Kong Youth Choir is the third choir performing in the concert! HKYC performs an inclusive repertoire from Baroque to contemporary works, especially local and Asian premieres of various choral works. The choir also received prizes from international choral competitions in Singapore and Taipei, with a champion in the Musica Sacra category in the former. In Phoenix Choral Collage, they are going to perform the following pieces, all by Vaclovas Augustinas:

Second choir in the concert is Fluente Chorus ! Fluente Chorus was founded in 2019 by a group of choral enthusiasts with a shared vision: to explore and perform choral music from the 20th century to the present day. They have also won a silver medal at the Taipei International Choral Festival 2023. They are performing the following pieces in the concert:

First we have Diocesan Choral Society (DCS) .choral.society, a choir with alumni from the Diocesan Boys’ School and Diocesan Girls’ School. Now under the baton of Mr. Ronnie Kay Yen Cheng, DCS has earned numerous accolades and collaborated with world-class artists over the years! Phoenix Choral Projects organized the inaugural Choral Collage in Hong Kong to foster exchanges and connections within the choral community. This remarkable event brings together four choirs—Diocesan Choral Society diocesan.choral.society , Fluente Chorus fluentechorus, Hong Kong Youth Choir hongkongyouthchoir , and The Chinese University of Hong Kong Chorus cuchorus. Led by their respective conductors, each choir will present their carefully chosen programmes, culminating in a grand finale featuring all the choristers performing together.

Our debut concert: 𝐀 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐦 | 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐡𝐦𝐬: 𝐄𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐦 was successfully held on 26 Nov, 2023 at Yip Kit Chuen Concert Hall, Diocesan Boys’ School. Thanks must be given to the musicians, the administrators, the venue, and the audience for embarking on this wonderful journey. May this be the start of many collaborations among our choral community!

Phoenix Choral Projects (P*P) is an organization that aims to promote and strengthen choral music and singing through providing platforms for different choral communities in Hong Kong to gather, exchange, and sing together.
