【流徙三部曲最終章－《Gweilo》】

／ 殖民地小島上 一個金髮小孩的成長曲 ／
／ The rite of passage of a golden boy in colonial Hong Kong ／

Martin Booth 《Gweilo》一書，寫的是自己於1950年代，隨著海軍父親由英國調駐來到殖民地時代的香港期間所經歷的童年往事。年少的Martin見證著香港的起步，同時，這個城市亦見證著Martin的成長。Martin長大後已回到英國落地生根，晚年更於病逝前完成此自傳，記下這一段難忘的童年。

雖然香港已脫離殖民地身份十多年，但是有了過去的歷史，才會形成我們今天的身份。多年殖民歷史中，還有不少人有類似Martin Booth的經歷。

受Martin Booth的童年自傳所啟發，導演胡海輝決定以《Gweilo》一書為藍本，與法、芬蘭籍演員Micah Sandt孫麥凱共同蒐集更多殖民地香港的小故事，對照Martin Booth的有趣經歷，重新打造一齣雙語獨腳戲。

一條褲期待與大家一起從一個金髮少年的目光，重新看見香港那段獨特而難以忘懷的殖民時代。

Renowned novelist Martin Booth came to settle in British colony Hong Kong in the 50s when his father was assigned here by the British army. His childhood coincided with how this city grew to be one of the most prosperous metropolises in the world. He has a direct experience of East meeting West. In 2002 he was diagnosed brain cancer, which induced him to write a memoir of his unforgettable relationship with this Eastern gem. He died shortly after he finished Gweilo.

Although Hong Kong is no longer a colony, this history is part of our present identity. In the last hundred years, there have been a number of people with similar experience of Martin Booth. Based upon Gweilo, we will look for similar stories to enrich the original story and create a new bilingual solo performance and examine the distinctive colonial history of Hong Kong through the lens of a golden boy.

Casting for Voice-Over Talent (Children)

A toy company needs authentic, American-accented children for an upcoming voice-over project. This is a paid gig, a fantastic learning opportunity and very a fun experience.

Details are listed below:
- one boy and one girl
- between the ages of 6 to 12
- voice must sound cute, clear and happy
- speak with an authentic American accent
- can sing simple songs in tune
- suitable candidates will be invited to a voice-over audition on Thursday 17th November, 2015
- if successful, must be available to record in Hong Kong between 30th November to 4th December, 2015 (Final Dates TBC)
