在家中學習繪畫，學童對學習環境感覺不會陌生，授課時他們會較為專心。 學習任何畫纇，都必須反覆練習，而中國水墨畫對毛筆之運用，水墨控制、調色技巧、線條運用，特別重視。
為提高兒童對學習國畫的興趣，教師會即場示範，由淺入深，繪畫小孩喜愛的小動物、花鳥、蟲魚、蔬果等等。
