On Friday's Backchat, we’re joined by a transport expert to break down why four of Hong Kong’s franchised bus companies are pushing for fare increases.

Then, we tell you out more about a unique judo-based, self-protection landing technique for the elderly, to reduce injuries.

After the break, we learn about M+ museum's upcoming exhibition that explores the role of fantasy in the evolution of Asian visual culture and its global impact.

And finally, we talk to an education expert to understand why grade retention may harm students with special educational needs.

As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts. You can call us at 2338-8266, WhatsApp 6899-8518, email [email protected], or comment on our page “Backchat on RTHK Radio 3”. You can also drop questions or comments on our Facebook and Instagram stories on our English news page.

On Thursday's Backchat, we begin with a discussion on the Southbound Yacht Travel Scheme launching tomorrow (Oct 16). Under the scheme, Guangdong-registered yachts will be allowed to sail into SAR waters, and officials say around 300 mainland skippers have already secured the necessary qualifications.

We then shift focus to public transport - after two successive rush-hour service disruptions took place on the Kwun Tong line within a span of 15 hours. An engineer will tell us what the possible causes were.

After the break, we unpack some research about retirement trends, including how AI is affecting retirement plans and how to improve quality of life for seniors living in the Greater Bay Area.
