This May marks my fourth year living in Europe. I arrived in Germany shortly after the outbreak of the Russo-Ukrainian War. There were still voices on the streets expressing solidarity with Ukrainians, and many people asked me about the situation back in my city. Since then, the world has seen even more conflicts and wars, and people of many different backgrounds have chosen to settle in Berlin.
Things that once felt distant to me have become part of the lived experiences of my neighbours. In this city, many are searching for a safe space. Many of us want to be heard, to tell our stories and find our voices in a new place. Yet in a city where everyone carries their own history, no story stands alone.
I’m grateful for this opportunity to share a story that is important to us. See you in 🇵🇹!
