[Final call] Renowned young Cantonese opera artist and playwright, Keith Lai, is coming to HKU this Sunday (4th September) to share his view of “new adaptation of Cantonese opera” from his experience of producing two upcoming new performances – Chunmanxinglin (春滿杏林) and The Imperial Decree (奉天承運). 2009年被列為聯合國人類非物質文化遺產之一的粵劇，是香港珍貴的傳統文化。無論在文化藝術層面，或從歷史保育的角度，粵劇都應保留及積極推廣。及此，香港大學社會學系的粵劇發展研究團隊在Facebook專頁創建平台與公眾分享研究成果，藉此推廣和促進香港粵劇的發展。我們將舉辦一系列活動，定期邀請台前幕後的粵劇人講解粵劇藝術、分享經驗，並與公眾對話，讓大家更認識粵劇文化。如想了解更多有關活動詳情，敬請密切留意我們的Facebook專頁！

Cantonese opera is an important traditional culture of Hong Kong. It has been inscribed onto UNESCO’s representative list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity in 2009. The Cantonese opera development research group from the Department of Sociology at the University of Hong Kong will share its research findings to the public by means of this online platform in an effort to contribute to the development of Cantonese opera.

We will organise a series of events and invite Cantonese opera practitioners to share their thoughts and to exchange views with the society in different aspects of Cantonese opera. Stay tuned for more details about our upcoming events!
