Nove Dragões / 九龍森巴學院 is a performing arts institution based in Hong Kong, following in the traditions of the samba schools of Rio de Janeiro to provide a platform for people to learn and perform percussion and dance, to create costumes and floats, and to participate in community activities. We have established a core percussion group (bateria), and are working on incorporating all the key traditi
onal elements of a school of samba, including a focus on carnival theme songs (sambas de enredo) and parades featuring a front commission (comissão de frente), flag bearer and master of the room (porta-bandeira e mestre-sala), bateria, feature dancers, Bahian samba aunts (baianas) and more. We hope to spread our love for this Brazilian carnival culture and also in time to contribute to social projects, bringing together people from all walks of life. New players/dancers - come and learn with us! No experience required. Just come and have a go! We are available for Carnival Parades, Stage Shows, Events, Samba Percussion and Dance Workshops, Corporate Team Building and Employee Experience Events, and Education Days.
