The Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) mourns the passing of Mr. Paul Stephenson, former President of THAG and Co-founder of Cara Hotels.

Mr. Stephenson served as President of THAG from October 2009 to 2012, during a pivotal period for the Association. His leadership was instrumental in helping to rebuild and reposition THAG at a time when steady guidance and focused work were needed to strengthen the organisation and move it forward. His contribution to that process was significant, and his impact on THAG will long be remembered.

A respected figure in Guyanaโ€™s tourism and hospitality sector, Mr. Stephenson had a long association with the industry, including his time at the Le Meridien Pegasus Hotel in Georgetown in the late 1980s to early 1990s. He later went on to co-found Cara Hotels, helping to build one of the countryโ€™s best-known hospitality brands.

THAG extends sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the teams at Cara Hotels and Wilderness Explorers during this difficult time.
