Congratulations to 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗶 for the recent opening of her solo exhibition at the 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗪𝗶𝗷𝗹𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲’s Coach House!

The title 𝘋𝘢𝘪𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘯 derives from a computing term that describes the serial connection of electronic devices within a system. In her work, Mascini explores the intersection of technology and the natural, animate world. She reveals the hidden connections between these seemingly opposing realms and magically sparks them to life.

¡Felicidades a 𝗩𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗸𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗶 por la reciente inauguración de su exposición individual en la Coach House de la finca 𝗞𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗪𝗶𝗷𝗹𝗿𝗲!

If you’re in New York, swing by 535 W 22nd st to visit 𝗔𝗸𝗶𝗿𝗮 𝗜𝗸𝗲𝘇𝗼𝗲’s 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘒𝘶𝘳𝘶𝘬𝘶𝘳𝘶 pop-up!

Here, Ikezoe turns his attention to the structures through which humans attempt to organize nature, and to the ways nature continually exceeds them. Drawing from diagrams, maps, instructional images, and the visual conventions of art history, he constructs worlds that appear ordered but resist being neatly explained.

𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘒𝘶𝘳𝘶𝘬𝘶𝘳𝘶 will be on view through 24 September; opening on weekdays from 12 to 5pm.

Aquí, Ikezoe centra su atención en las estructuras mediante las cuales los seres humanos intentan organizar la naturaleza, y en las formas en que la naturaleza constantemente las supera. A partir de diagramas, mapas, imágenes instructivas y las convenciones visuales de la historia del arte, el artista construye mundos que parecen ordenados pero que se resisten a ser explicados de manera simplificada.

Drawing, weaving, and architecture unite through recurring gestures of repetition and return, communicating throughout the body of work that materials, like natural systems, are always in a state of connection and renewal. 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘳𝘣𝘪𝘵 is set to run through October 24, 2026.

𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗨𝗻𝘇𝘂𝗲𝘁𝗮 acaba de inaugurar su exposición individual 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘖𝘳𝘣𝘪𝘵 en 𝗖𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘆 𝗞𝗮𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻, posicionando el dibujo como una acción fundamental y constante dentro de su práctica interdisciplinaria.

La semana pasada terminó la exposición 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘨𝘦𝘰𝘨𝘳á𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘴 de 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗶 en Proyectos Ultravioleta.

Mientras desmontamos y nos preparamos para nuestra próxima exposición, les compartimos algunos detalles de las increíbles obras exhibidas.

Last week, 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗶’s 𝘈𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘨𝘦𝘰𝘨𝘳á𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘰𝘴 (𝘎𝘦𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘱𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘤𝘤𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘴) exhibition at Proyectos Ultravioleta came to an end.

We are heading into the final two weeks to visit 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗯𝗯𝗮𝘀 and 𝗥𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂-𝗥𝗮𝗵𝗺𝗲’s 𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘦: 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘚𝘶𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘰𝘮 at 𝗞𝘂𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘂𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘆.

The artist duo creates multimedia installations that engage the politics and poetics of anti-colonial resistance while tracing struggles against dispossession and oppression in Palestine.

In this new commission, they ask: what does it mean to resist in impossible conditions, to breathe where one should not breathe, and to emerge from sites of exclusion unbound? Writing, storytelling, and song emerge as life-affirming acts that sustain the capacity to continue resisting, even within conditions designed to confine the body and imagination.

In 𝗔𝗯𝗯𝗮𝘀 𝗭𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗶’s 𝘖𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘢 47051 installation for 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝟭𝟲 𝗥𝘂𝗵𝗿, the artist incorporates disused organ pipes into a sound system where air, mechanics, and electronics give them a new voice.

Ouranophobia means “fear of the sky.” Within the work, the sky takes on a double meaning: traditionally associated with spirituality and prayer, it can also become a potential source of danger through the experience of war. Organ pipes are then placed somewhere between memory, destruction, and the possibility of a new existence.

En la instalación 𝘖𝘶𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘣𝘪𝘢 47051 de 𝗔𝗯𝗯𝗮𝘀 𝗭𝗮𝗵𝗲𝗱𝗶 para 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝟭𝟲 𝗥𝘂𝗵𝗿, el artista incorpora tubos de órgano en desuso en un sistema de sonido donde el aire, la mecánica y la electrónica les dan una nueva voz.

Ouranophobia significa «temor al cielo». Dentro de la obra, el cielo adquiere un doble significado: asociado tradicionalmente con la espiritualidad y la oración, también puede convertirse en una posible fuente de peligro a través de la experiencia de la guerra. Los tubos de órgano se sitúan entonces en algún lugar entre la memoria, la destrucción y la posibilidad de una nueva existencia.

This is the final weekend to visit 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗹’s 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘔𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘧 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 (𝘐𝘹𝘪𝘮 𝘑𝘶𝘺𝘶 𝘒’𝘢𝘴𝘭𝘦𝘮) at the Bluhm Family Terrace of the 𝗔𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗴𝗼!

Moving this everyday rural architecture from Chi Xot to downtown Chicago allows different histories to meet. For some visitors, the hut may recall a backyard shed; for others, it may bring to mind memories of field shelters and shared labor. Calel’s work suggests that a museum can hold more than objects: it can hold relationships to land, to family, and to each other. As the artist notes, “The world is what you know, what you can reach for.”

The exhibition was curated by 𝗚𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗼𝗹𝗼 𝗕𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗶 and organized by the Art Institute of Chicago with major funding from the Bluhm Family Endowment Fund, which supports exhibitions of modern and contemporary sculpture.

Trasladar esta arquitectura rural cotidiana de Chi Xot al centro de Chicago permite el encuentro entre diferentes historias. Para algunos visitantes, la choza puede recordar un cobertizo en el patio trasero; para otros, puede evocar memorias de refugios de campo y trabajo compartido. La obra de Calel sugiere que un museo puede albergar más que objetos: puede contener relaciones con la tierra, la familia y con los demás. Como señala el artista: «El mundo es lo que conoces, lo que puedes alcanzar».
