Open call extended — applications now open until 25 May 2026

The Kaiafas Performance Residency is a four-day intensive programme for site-specific performance and live art taking place at Lake Kaiafas, Greece.

Body. Landscape. Movement. Time.

Working through embodied practices, spatial research, performance methodologies, and collective processes, participants will develop work in direct dialogue with the environment — the lake, the regenerated pine forest, the thermal springs, and the coastline.

So far, we have received applications from artists working across performance, choreography, visual arts, film, theatre, and interdisciplinary practices from different parts of the world, and we are looking forward to the final group taking shape.

Applications remain open until 25 May 2026.

Performance artist, co-founder and tutor Eliza Soroga speaks about the Kaiafas Performance Residency 2026 — an international residency focused on site-specific performance and live art practices developed in direct relation to landscape.

The Kaiafas Performance Residency 2026 is a four-day intensive programme focused on site-specific performance and live art.

Working within the landscape of Lake Kaiafas — a Natura 2000 protected area — the residency approaches place not as context, but as a condition that shapes the work. The programme is structured around four conceptual axes: body, natural landscape, movement, time.

Participants will work through embodied practices, spatial research, and collective processes, developing material in direct relation to the environment.

The Kaiafas Performance Residency is structured as a four-day working period in relation to a specific landscape. The focus is on site-responsive practices, where the work develops through attention to the conditions of the environment — spatial, material, and temporal.

Rather than producing work for a site, the programme supports processes that unfold within it, allowing forms, actions, and decisions to emerge through sustained engagement with place.

The group remains small, creating the conditions for continuity, exchange, and concentrated work over time.

The residency takes place at Lake Kaiafas in the Peloponnese, bringing together artists, performers, and researchers to work with site-specific methodologies in direct relation to the landscape.

Over four days, participants develop individual and collective work outdoors, engaging with the different environments of the area — lake, pine forest, sand dunes, coastline, and thermal springs.
