☀️ A Little Reminder During This Very Hot Weather ☀️

The heat at the moment is incredibly tough… not only for us, but especially for our animals. 🐴🐐🐑🐰🐢

Every animal copes with hot weather differently. Some will naturally be quieter, some will spend much more time resting or lying in the shade, and others may not want to interact as much as they normally would. This does not mean there is something wrong with them. We know our animals, their individual needs and their normal behaviour.

Our staff are also working outside in these temperatures every day, caring for the animals, constantly checking water, providing shade and making sure everyone is as comfortable as possible. ❤️

The welfare of our animals will always come before entertaining visitors. If an animal wants to rest in the shade rather than come over to say hello, that’s exactly what we will allow them to do.

During weather like this, we simply ask for a little extra patience and understanding. Please remember that both animals and people feel the effects of extreme heat, and everyone handles it differently. 🌿❤️

🪿🤍 A year without our Hilary…

It’s hard to believe that a year has passed since we said goodbye to one of the biggest characters The Little Farm has ever known.

Hilary wasn’t just a goose. She was Hilary. 💛

With her beautiful blue eyes, her very big personality and her ability to make sure everyone knew exactly who was boss, she became such a special part of our farm.

She knew her name, would come when we called her, loved her lettuce and carrots, and of course had her very own “Hilary’s Spa.” 😂🪿

So many of you met her over the years, took photos of her, laughed at her antics and came back asking, “Where’s Hilary?”

We still miss seeing her waddling around the farm, and even a year later there are little reminders of her everywhere.

Her spa still carries her name, and I think it always will. 🤍

Some animals come into your life and somehow become so much more than you ever expected.

Hilary was definitely one of those.

Today is our closed day, but unfortunately our security cameras captured a group of boys entering our car park, chasing our chickens and trying to catch their babies.

This kind of behaviour is completely unacceptable.

The Little Farm exists to teach kindness, respect, and compassion towards animals. Our animals are not here to be chased, frightened, or treated like toys for someone’s entertainment.

If you think this behaviour is funny, then please do not visit our farm. We have worked incredibly hard to create a safe, peaceful home for our animals, and we will always put their welfare first.

💙 Better late than never… meet Arthur! 💙

We’d like to introduce the newest member of The Little Farm family—Arthur! 🐐

Arthur is Hobnob’s beautiful baby boy and was born just one day after little Louie. His arrival wasn’t quite as straightforward as we’d hoped, and Hobnob needed a little help from our wonderful vet during the delivery. Thankfully, everything went well, and we’re so grateful that both mum and baby are doing great. ❤️

Arthur is now happily finding his feet, enjoying lots of cuddles from Mum, and keeping us all smiling with his sweet little personality.

We can’t wait for you to come and meet both Arthur and Louie on your next visit! 🌿🐐

From New Zealand to Zakynthos… our story 🌿❤️

Hello and welcome! We’re Ioannis (Yianni) and Chloe — the family behind The Little Farm.

Yianni was born and raised here on the beautiful island of Zakynthos. Growing up, he spent his days helping his family harvest olives, learning traditional farming methods and developing a deep love and respect for the land.

I (Chloe) grew up on the other side of the world in New Zealand. After studying Early Childhood Education, I set off to travel, never imagining that one journey would change my life forever.

In 2008, our paths crossed while we were both working at Akropolis Restaurant. What started as a summer romance soon became a lifetime together.

In 2013, our daughter Ava arrived. She has grown up surrounded by olive trees and animals, and shares our passion for caring for them. If you visit the farm, there’s a good chance you’ll spot her helping out with a smile.

Over the years, we’ve poured our hearts into creating a place where people can slow down, connect with nature, meet friendly animals, and experience a little piece of authentic Zakynthian life.

The Little Farm isn’t just a business to us—it’s our home, our passion, and a dream we’ve built together as a family.

We’re hoping the weather clears and the farm dries out enough for us to open later today. 🤞

🩵 New arrival at The Little Farm! 🐐

Today, Twix welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world! We’d love you to meet Louie, our newest little farm member.

Mum and baby are both doing wonderfully, and we can’t wait for you to meet him! 💚
