Stefanos Paterakis has been awarded a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston. He is twenty. He has played the Cretan laouto since he was eight, after his father. The Greek press this week named him one of three young musicians of the tradition to receive that rare four-year place.

Last night in the old stone church of Vlatos…

Antonis Leontidis and his trio gave us the full Cretan lyra experience — original compositions, beautiful silences, personal stories between the songs, and a powerful moment drawn from the ancient *Erotokritos*.

On a warm evening, surrounded by ancient olive trees and an enthusiastic audience, the music simply belonged.

Original compositions from his albums *Kryfo* and *Asprogkas*, together with brand-new, still-unreleased pieces. Modal journeys, Cretan echoes, intimate storytelling through lyra, voice and ensemble.
