Between May 8 and 12, we were in Kaunas, Lithuania, participating in the Training Course of the international project The Octopus.
The Octopus’ Project - Ensuring a Space Suitable for Neurodiverse People is a project funded by the Erasmus+ program coordinated by the CAAT Project (Netherlands), of which Addart is a partner. It runs until 2026 and aims to support the creation of inclusive learning environments for all with respect to neurodiversity.
The Training Course brought together participants from the 4 European organizations that form the consortium of this project: Projects - Netherlands (coordination), Contexts - Portugal, AddArt - Greece and Anthropos - Lithuania. It was 5 days of work, reflection and experimentation where we shared, discussed and crossed the results of the research phase with a special focus on interviews conducted in each country, and where we planned the next phases of the project.
Building on preliminary findings and identified best practices, over the next few months we will be working on a Toolkit that will introduce concepts and best practices for creating inclusive learning environments! We'll also be developing animation videos and a board game! Come join us!
Addart reinforces its gratitude to all the people who participated in the interviews - neurodivergent youth and adults, activists, technicians and professionals in the field, trainers/educators and other stakeholders in the field of education! Thank you so much👏
