"Down from Dover" is a tragic folk song written by Dolly Parton. Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood recorded a famous cover version for their 1971 collaborative album, Nancy & Lee Again. The song tells the sorrowful story of an unwed pregnant young woman abandoned by her lover. Dolly Parton released the track on her 1970 album A Real Live Dolly and as a solo release. Sinatra and Hazlewood adapted the lyrics so Hazlewood could sing parts of the narrative from the male perspective. The recording features a melancholy arrangement with acoustic guitars, bass, strings, cellos, and a sitar. A timeless piece of Folky Cinematica beauty and a classic for The Silent Ballet events!

At last, from Liverpool come a group who seem to owe absolutely nothing to the Beatles. Super Numeri specialise in long, intense journeys into music that recall Miles Davis' seventies experiments and the work of Can without seeming beholden to either. The product of a unique communal collective, the results are langorous soundscapes, with a use of live instruments and spiky intelligence which take them a million miles from lazy "ambient" music. Self-avowed avant garde traditionalists, the three core members of Super Numeri gathered together ten others for the making of a record which they describe in the following terms: "Sometimes it's ugly. Sometimes it's immensely beautiful. At all times it's high and glorious!" Listen to a new sound coming from an old place. "The Coastal Bird Scene" is a superb Exotica Jazz tune that was released by Ninjatune Records back in 2003. A timeless piece of music beauty and a classic for The Silent Ballet events!!

"Some Velvet Morning" is a song written by Lee Hazlewood and originally recorded by Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra in late 1967. It first appeared on Sinatra's album Movin' with Nancy, the soundtrack to her 1967 television special of the same name, which also featured a performance of the song. It was subsequently released as a single before appearing on the 1968 album Nancy & Lee. The male part of the song is in 4/4 time signature whereas the female part is in 3/4. Hazlewood's voice is recorded with more reverberation than is Sinatra's, making it sound bidimensional. Sinatra's singing career received a boost in 1967 with the help of songwriter/producer/arranger Hazlewood, who had been making records for ten years, including with Duane Eddy. Hazlewood's collaboration with Sinatra began when her father Frank Sinatra asked Hazlewood to help boost his daughter's career. Hazlewood also confirmed that he was inspired by Greek mythology: "I thought they were a lot better than all those fairy tales that came from Germany that had killings and knifings. There was only about seven lines about Phaedra. She had a sad middle, a sad end, and by the time she was 17 she was gone. She was a sad-assed broad, the saddest of all Greek goddesses. So bless her heart, she deserves some notoriety, so I’ll put her in a song.". This is one of the strangest and most darkly songs even written, ambitiousm beautiful and unforgettable. A timeless piece of Beauty and a classic for The Silent Ballet events.
