Το Kalpana (Φαντασία) είναι ένα φιλμ που δημιουργήθηκε από τον χορευτή και χορογράφο Uday Shankar το 1948 στο Madras (Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India).
Τo Kalpana είναι η ημι-αυτοβιογραφική χορευτική ταινία του Uday Shankar με πρωταγωνιστή τον ίδιο, τη σύζυγό του Amala Shankar και ένα καστ νεαρών χορευτών και αφηγείται μια φανταστική ιστορία του ονείρου ενός νεαρού χορευτή να ιδρύσει τη δική του ακαδημία.
Στην ταινία βλέπουμε το χορευτικό στυλ του Uday Shankar το οποίο ονόμασε "Hi-dance", που αργότερα ονομάστηκε "Creative dance" και σήμερα είναι γνωστό ως Uday Shankar Dance Style, το οποίο σήμερα συνεχίζει να το διδάσκει η νύφη του, Tanusree Shankar στην Tanursee Shankar Dance Academy.

Kalpana is Uday Shankar's semi-autobiographical dance film starring himself, his wife Amala Shankar and a cast of young dancers, and tells a fictional story of a young dancer's dream of starting his own academy.
The film showcases Uday Shankar's dance style, which he called "Hi-dance", later renamed "Creative dance" and is now known as the Uday Shankar Dance Style, which is still taught today by his daughter-in-law, Tanusree Shankar at the Tanursee Shankar Dance Academy.
