From structural blueprint to interactive narrative: We are incredibly proud to showcase how final-year architecture students Angelina Biskitzoglou and Lydia Makridi from the University of Patras transformed their diploma thesis during our “From Zero to Hero” Creator Bootcamp!!!
Entering the bootcamp with zero prior experience in Unreal Engine, Angelina and Lydia set out to answer a fascinating, abstract design question: How do you translate the psychology of emerging adulthood;the unstable, transitional phase of becoming an adult;into physical, interactive space?
Their project, “Fragments of Us: The Architecture of Becoming,” is a narrative walking simulator that challenges traditional architectural conventions. By leveraging spatial storytelling, liminal environments, and non-linear paths, they crafted a powerful digital experience where space reflects memory, identity, and quiet transformation.
By the conclusion of the bootcamp, Angelina and Lydia developed a functional interactive proof-of-concept demo. They successfully connected raw academic research and interactive real-time development, establishing the foundational code logic and atmospheric language for their final university thesis.

Πλανητάριο Σύμης
Ψηφιακή προσομοίωση του Μηχανισμού των Αντικυθήρων με ζωντανά δεδομένα της NASA
Αυτό το έργο τέχνης προσφέρει μια διαδραστική εμπειρία που εξερευνά τόσο την απεραντοσύνη του σύμπαντος όσο και την εσωστρεφή εμπειρία του να είσαι μόνος με τον εαυτό σου. Χρησιμοποιώντας έναν μηχανισμό Arduino και κουμπιά, το έργο τέχνης δημιουργεί ένα εικονικό πλανητάριο όπου οι θεατές μπορούν να παρατηρήσουν ζωντανά δεδομένα της NASA και να γίνουν μάρτυρες των κινήσεων των πλανητών σε πραγματικό χρόνο. Συνδυάζοντας την τεχνολογία, την επιστήμη και την τέχνη, το έργο τέχνης καλεί τους θεατές να αναλογιστούν τη θέση τους στο σύμπαν και τη σύνδεσή τους με το σύμπαν.
Η ενσωμάτωση του μηχανισμού των Αντικυθήρων, μιας αρχαίας συσκευής που χρησιμοποιείται για αστρονομικούς και ημερολογιακούς σκοπούς, παρέχει ένα ιστορικό πλαίσιο για την ανθρώπινη γοητεία με το σύμπαν και υπογραμμίζει τη διαρκή σημασία της κατανόησης της θέσης μας στο σύμπαν. Επιπλέον, η ανακάλυψη του μηχανισμού στα ανοικτά των ακτών της Ελλάδας από σφουγγαράδες το 1901 αναδεικνύει τη σύνδεση μεταξύ εξερεύνησης και ενδοσκόπησης, συνδέοντας την εμπειρία της κατάδυσης στα βάθη του ωκεανού με την αναζήτηση της γνώσης και της κατανόησης του σύμπαντος.
Καθώς οι θεατές ασχολούνται με το εικονικό πλανητάριο του έργου τέχνης, καλούνται να αναλογιστούν τη δική τους θέση στην απεραντοσύνη του σύμπαντος, παραλληλίζοντας την ενδοσκοπική εμπειρία του να είσαι μόνος με τον εαυτό σου κατά τη διάρκεια της κατάδυσης. Μέσω αυτού του έργου, ο θεατής δεν είναι μόνο σε θέση να εκτιμήσει την ομορφιά και την πολυπλοκότητα του σύμπαντος, αλλά και να αποκτήσει εικόνα για τους τρόπους με τους οποίους η ανθρώπινη περιέργεια και εξερεύνηση μας συνδέει τόσο με το σύμπαν όσο και με τον εαυτό μας...
