๐ผMAESTRO - Horror Productions Pefki - Immersive Live Escape Rooms (๐ฌ๐ทAthens)
Review (By Anna Kraska)
๐ฌIntroduction
After loving Ghostwriter, we were incredibly curious to see what Horror Productions would create at their new location. What we found in Maestro was something far more than a traditional horror escape room.
For us, Maestro became a Masterfully Arranged Experience where Sound, Timing, Resonance & Originality meet.
From the very beginning, a sense of melancholy hangs in the air. You quickly realize that Maestro is not interested in simply scaring its players. It wants to tell a storyโand by the end, it had completely captured my heart.
๐Story & Emotion
Certainly there are frightening moments, but beneath the horror lies something far more powerful: a deeply emotional narrative that slowly unfolds around you. Rather than simply witnessing the story, we felt ourselves becoming part of it.
With every interaction and discovery, the room reveals another layer of its tragedy, transforming curiosity into genuine empathy. The actors elevate this experience even further through performances that feel remarkably authentic. Sometimes it is not a scream or a scare that leaves the strongest impression, but a glance, a gesture, or a moment of silence. And that is where the true Resonance of Maestro emerges.
By the time we reached the finale, I was no longer thinking about puzzles or gameplay. I was completely invested in the story and its characters. When the final moments unfolded, the emotional impact hit me far harder than I ever expectedโI was crying. Not because the room was sad for the sake of being sad, but because it had earned that emotion through exceptional storytelling. Very few escape rooms have ever affected me on such a level, and that is what made Maestro truly unforgettable.
๐๏ธSet & Atmosphere
Through the precise use of sound and timing, the room creates an atmosphere where anticipation often becomes more powerful than the scares themselves. Throughout the experience, a constant sense of emotional tension lingers beneath the surface. Even during quieter moments, it feels as though everything is slowly building towards something inevitable.
Visually, Maestro is stunning. The set balances elegance and decay, with every space carefully crafted and rich in detail. Combined with excellent lighting, music, and actor positioning, the environment remains dynamic and unpredictable throughout the experience.
Itโs originality was just stunning. Rather than following familiar horror conventions, it confidently embraces its own vision, creating an experience that feels genuinely unique.
๐งฉPuzzles & Teamwork
The puzzles were well integrated into the experience and never feel like interruptions. Instead, they feel like a natural extension of the world around you, helping to deepen immersion. What I particularly appreciated was how closely the puzzles were connected to the theme. Whether through movement, observation, or elements related to the conservatory itself, every task felt purposeful. Nothing felt random or added simply for the sake of having another puzzle.
The gameplay flows naturally from scene to scene, allowing the atmosphere, story, and puzzles to work together in harmony. This creates a very cohesive experience where solving puzzles becomes part of the journey.
๐คFinal Thoughts
The sets were stunning, the actors exceptional, the scares perfectly timed, and the puzzles beautifully woven into the experience. Every aspect of Maestro worked exactly as it should and created one of the most complete horror experiences I have ever played.
But the greatest achievement for me of Maestro was that it made me care.

๐ฌ The luxurious conservatory "Das Musikhaus" of the famous Austrian Maestro Franz Weber, in the centre of Vienna, was known for training top musicians. Only students with a natural talent for music were admitted to study...
Weber was a master in the field of music, strict and authoritarian, conducting the greatest orchestras of the time while also teaching at the Conservatory...
However, behind the imposing blackboards, the huge pentagrams and the beautiful melodies there was another dark face of Weber, a face that was cruel and violent...
The music of the Conservatory fell silent forever after that night in April 1945...
The Soviet troops were camped in the Austrian capital and now the whole city was in total confusion...
The bombing that followed in the following days razed the whole of Vienna and the Conservatory with it...
Tonight, the historic Conservatory reopens its doors, but this time as a museum. Within the Museum, the whole story of the famous Maestro's life is reflected in great detail.
Unfortunately, your flight to Vienna is long delayed and you miss the magical opening night of the Museum as you manage to arrive just before midnight.
But you find a way to explore it...
"True history is made of the silence of the dead."
Note: The story deals with historical events and contains symbolisms from World War II.
It made me care about its story, its characters, and the emotions behind them. Even now, while writing this review, I find myself returning to those moments with both a smile and a tear.
And that is why Maestro is a room I will always be thinking about.
