The Drum Dungeon offers a great sounding and cozy 100sqm recording facility with a recording room, control, lounge, kitchen and a spacious garden. We record digital, but also offer the good old vintage philosophy using some analog gear with a decent selection of pre amps, high standard microphones and outboards. The DD offers a cozy and comfortable working environment and guarantees the rich sound
everyone is looking for. The main room was extra designed to get the right sound for acoustic instruments, especially for drums. DD Studios is located in the south of Athens near Sounion (Temple of Poseidon) in the forest hills of Ag.Konstantinos between Lavrio and Anavissos, Attica Greece with a direct view into its woods and the Mediterranean blue sea. We do offer accommodation in apartments or 4 - 5* Hotels nearby, where you can also find restaurants, bars and most important ....the Herffernann´s Irish Pub in Lavrio. You can hire the entire studio on a weekly, daily or hourly basis and choose who you want to work with. Experienced staff and international and local assistants/engineers and producers are at your disposal. With a good sounding room, good gear, experienced and experimenting staff we like to say that …..”Nothing is impossible”! Just like the old days and ways ……

MARK CROSS, also known as the “Powerhouse”, a world class drummer, who has worked with some of the greatest bands and artists in rock history. Bands like the Scorpions, Metalium, Firewind, Helloween, Kingdom Come, Joe Lynn Turner, Ian Gillan, Tank, Joe Stump´s Tower of Babel, Tainted Nation, the Vivaldi Metal Project and God´s Army to name a few, have given him a great reputation in the industry and is the leading spirit behind the Drum Dungeon. Great sounding drums were always what he aimed for and being a busy musician, he decided to create his own facilities to record his music and recapture some the old ways and sounds of recording. It was the time, when Mark moved from London to Hamburg in 2014 looking for the right place to set up his gear. He worked the first couple of years managing the rockin´ restaurant Zwick in Hamburg, Altona and also the Zwick recording studio above the Club. Unfortunately the Business and its premises were shut down in 2016 and Mark had to look once more for new shelter. The studio had moved between 2016 and 2019 to three different locations in Hamburg, Germany which had been an absolute no go and waste of time and money! Luckily enough, just before the pandemic outbreak in 2020 he packed his bags and moved to Greece, where he had spent his teenage years. "It makes perfect sense today" he said. "Greece is a much nicer place than the rest of Europe with everything going on right now, Brexit, political madness in Germany and wars around the corner and who knows what else is in store!! Not that the economy is doing great over here, that is a global problem with the pandemic and a dying industry, but at least I found some peace of mind to record and write music and do everything else one needs to get inspired. It´s a little paradise down here and that counts to restore ones sanity." Mark shares his “knowhow” in drum recording and also offers his drum services to record as a drummer or produce your music out of “The Drum Dungeon” for every musician, band, newcomers, local or international established artists. You can rent the place, bring your own gear or use ours.

We can exchange files via our ftp servers, WeTransfer or DropBox and deliver edited and great sounding drums for you. You don’t have to be a famous musician to work with famous musicians, I am very keen to explore and share every opportunity with you.”
Mark’s longtime experience as a recording and touring artist, as well as a recording seminar tutor for the SAE, allows him to apply top recording and mixing skills and bring your production to high standards. Mark has also worked in the past with producers like Charlie Bauerfeind (Helloween), Chris Tsangarides (Judas Priest, Yngwie Malmsteen, Thin Lizzy and Gary Moore), Kip Winger and Tommy Hansen (Helloween, Pretty Maids, Outloud.
