NEW SHIP: M/S NORDIA
The M/S Nordia was built in 1962 by Wärtsilä's Hietalahti shipyard in Helsinki for Oy Siljavarustamo. She was the sister ship of Skandia, measuring 101.6 metres in length,
with a service speed of approximately 17.5 knots and capacity for up to 1,200 passengers and around 175 cars.
Delivered on 3 May 1962, Nordia entered service only a few days later between Turku and Norrtälje, operating alongside Skandia on the important ferry connections
linking Finland, the Åland Islands and Sweden. Together, the two sisters became important representatives of Silja's first generation of modern car ferries and helped
transform passenger and vehicle transport across the Baltic Sea.

NEW SHIP: M/S SKANDIA
The M/S Skandia was built in 1961 by Wärtsilä's Hietalahti shipyard in Helsinki for Oy Siljavarustamo, later associated with Silja Line. Measuring 101.6 metres in length and
capable of carrying up to 1,200 passengers and around 175 cars, Skandia was one of the pioneering modern car and passenger ferries of the Baltic and the first major vessel
of its kind built in Finland.
Skandia entered service on the Turku – Mariehamn – Norrtälje route, linking Finland, the Åland Islands and Sweden. For the early 1960s she offered an impressive
standard of passenger comfort, including restaurants, a cafeteria, bar, cinema, saunas and facilities for families and children. Her successful design was followed by her
sister ship Nordia, delivered in 1962.

NEW SHIP:KAPETAN ALEXANDROS
The KAPETAN ALEXANDROS was one of the most recognizable passenger ferries in Greek coastal shipping and the vessel that marked the beginning of Agoudimos Lines
as a major ferry operator.
Built in 1962 in Scotland as Doric Ferry, she initially served Northern European routes before being acquired by the Agoudimos family in 1988.
Following an extensive conversion in Greece, she was renamed Kapetan Alexandros in honor of the family's patriarch.
Her distinctive deep blue hull and classic ferry profile made her one of the most iconic Greek ferries of the 1990s, earning a special place in the memories of passengers and
ferry enthusiasts alike.
After nearly five decades of service under several names, the ship was retired in 2009, bringing to an end the remarkable career of a vessel that remains an enduring
symbol of modern Greek ferry history.

NEW SHIP:BALTIC FERRY
The Baltic Ferry was built as a high-capacity ro-ro ferry for Northern European routes, sharing its design and
role with its sister ship, the Nordic Ferry. Operated by Townsend Thoresen, it was an important part of cross-channel
and North Sea transport during the late 20th century.
In 1982, amid the Falklands War, the vessel was requisitioned and converted into a support ship for military operations.
Equipped to carry personnel, helicopters, and cargo, it played a key logistical role. Following the conflict, the ship resumed
civilian duties and remained in service for many years.
