🍄 Remember when you were little and every tiny piece of junk felt like a rare treasure?
🪨 🎀 Most of us kept a secret box of these riches growing up, filled with everything from smooth pebbles and sea glass to broken toys and shiny beads. When my kids were younger, I remember sighing every time they handed me yet another rock, bead, or scrap of ribbon to carry in my bag.
Ironically, once they grew a bit older and I finally found the time to dive into my own creative projects, I became a bit of a "treasure" hoarder myself! Piles of egg cartons, bins of vibrant beads, leftover ribbons, string, and plastic lids were no longer trash. In my eyes, they were already transforming into magical fairy lands, turning plain, boring walls and corners into playful, enchanted spaces that spark the imagination.
🧚 For this little mushroom family, I used cinnamon sticks, an egg carton, a lid and a piece of ribbon. The "grass" is shredded egg carton glued to the bottom of the lid. Everything was painted with chalk paint, and the little dots were made with the flat end of a kebab stick.
💕🍄🌸 Spill the secrets—what kind of weird "treasures" were you hoarding in your secret box as a kid? 😁
