Dominicos Teotocopulos el artista pintor mejor conocido como "El Greco" fue mi inspiración hace dos años que fui invitado a participar en una exposición colectiva en el centro cultural ,Círculo del arte en Toledo España.Alli fue donde después de conocer a profundidad sobre la vida y obra de este artista Cretense en unas de las actividades entre los pintores que participamos en ese evento ,sentí la necesidad de crear una obra dedicada a este grandioso ser humano ,artista ,arquitecto ,traductor quien vivió la mayoría de su tiempo en esta medieval ciudad y que pudo con audacia sobrevivir ante la terrible época promovida por la gerarquia del clero Católico"la santa inquisicion" donde el Greco no solo se desarrollo como pintor para la iglesia catolica, a pesar que en su interior jamás compartió las ideas con los cardenales creadores de semejante maquinaria de la tortura y crímenes a Miles de personas por cientos de años.Hoy les presento mi ultima pintura ya concluida en honor y respeto a este grandioso hombre ,artista y pintor de Creta.

Ο Δομίνικος Θεοτοκόπουλος, ο ζωγράφος περισσότερο γνωστός ως «Ελ Γκρέκο», αποτέλεσε την έμπνευσή μου πριν από δύο χρόνια, όταν με κάλεσαν να συμμετάσχω σε μια ομαδική έκθεση στο πολιτιστικό κέντρο Círculo del Arte στο Τολέδο της Ισπανίας. Εκεί, αφού μελέτησα τη ζωή και το έργο αυτού του Κρητικού καλλιτέχνη, κατά τη διάρκεια μιας από τις δραστηριότητες μεταξύ των συμμετεχόντων ζωγράφων, ένιωσα την ανάγκη να δημιουργήσω ένα έργο αφιερωμένο σε αυτόν τον σπουδαίο άνθρωπο, καλλιτέχνη, αρχιτέκτονα και μεταφραστή που έζησε το μεγαλύτερο μέρος της ζωής του σε αυτή τη μεσαιωνική πόλη και που επέζησε με τόλμη από την τρομερή εποχή που προωθούσε η καθολική ιεραρχία του κλήρου, την Ιερά Εξέταση. Ο Ελ Γκρέκο εξελίχθηκε ως ζωγράφος - για την Καθολική Εκκλησία- παρόλο που ποτέ δεν συμμερίστηκε τις ιδέες των καρδιναλίων που δημιούργησαν έναν τέτοιο μηχανισμό βασανιστηρίων και εγκλημάτων εναντίον χιλιάδων ανθρώπων για εκατοντάδες χρόνια. Σήμερα παρουσιάζω τον τελευταίο μου πίνακα, προς τιμήν και με σεβασμό σε αυτόν τον σπουδαίο άνθρωπο, καλλιτέχνη και ζωγράφο από την Κρήτη.

Dominikos Theotokopoulos, the painter better known as "El Greco," was my inspiration two years ago when I was invited to participate in a group exhibition at the Círculo del Arte cultural center in Toledo, Spain. There, after learning in depth about the life and work of this Cretan artist, during one of the activities among the participating painters, I felt the need to create a work dedicated to this great human being, artist, architect, and translator, who lived most of his life in this medieval city and who boldly survived the terrible era promoted by the Catholic clergy hierarchy, the Holy Inquisition. El Greco evolved as a painter -for the Catholic Church- even though he never shared the ideas of the cardinals who created such a mechanism of torture and crimes against thousands of people for hundreds of years. Today I present my latest painting, now completed, in honor and respect of this great man, artist, and painter from Crete.
