Sometimes special instruments arrive at the studio through unexpected paths.

After a series of beautiful coincidences — and a warm exchange with our friend Panagiotis Ganotis — this exceptional handmade drum kit by legendary Greek drum builder Gabriel has found its new home at Tender Sounds.

Gabriel personally restored the kit, bringing it back to its full character and sound. It’s now set up in the studio and ready for new recordings.

Apollon Custom — 9-ply maple — built in 1999.

For the first soundcheck, our friend and outstanding drummer Kostas Fragkos stopped by.

Μετά από μια σειρά συγκινητικών συμπτώσεων, που κατέληξαν σε μια πολύ εγκάρδια ανταλλαγή με τον φίλο Παναγιώτη Γανωτή, αποκτήσαμε αυτό το υπέροχο χειροποίητο σετ του θρυλικού Έλληνα οργανοποιού Gabriel. Ο ίδιος ο Γαβρίλος, με περίσσια φροντίδα, ανέλαβε την αναπαλαίωσή του και από σήμερα είναι στημένο στο Tender Sounds, έτοιμο για νέες μουσικές περιπέτειες. Πρόκειται για ένα Apollon Custom 9-ply maple set του 1999. Για το πρώτο soundcheck πέρασε από το στούντιο ο φίλος και εξαιρετικός παίχτης Κώστας Φράγκος, τον οποίο βλέπετε και ακούτε στο βίντεο.
