Come quasi tutti i lavori di Rodari, anche La luna di Kiev è un testo rivolto soprattutto ai bambini e alle bambine e, come spesso accade, insegna a ripudiare qualsiasi guerra, non solo ai più piccoli, ma più in generale a quegli adulti che, come sta accadendo in Ucraina, non hanno compreso il valore della pace e dell’uguaglianza fra popoli, al di là di ogni differenza culturale, religiosa o etnica.
Valori che il mondo del Circo, per sua stessa natura, da sempre fa propri.
Valori che il mondo del Circo, per sua stessa natura, per sempre, intende incarnare.
Il Circo ripudia la guerra.
Il Circo è casa per tutti.
Al Circo, di tutti, si celebra la bellezza.
Dal Circo, ciò che non sia bellezza, resti fuori.

Like almost all of Rodari's works, La Luna di Kiev is aimed at children, and teaches them to reject all wars, but it is also and more specifically aimed at those adults who, as we see happening in Ukraine, have failed to understand the value of equality and peace between nations, regardless of any cultural, religious, or ethnic differences.
These are values that the circus world, because of its very nature, have always held as its own.
These are values that the circus world, because of its very nature, will always uphold.
The Circus rejects war.
The Circus offers a home to all.
The Circus, which belongs to all of us, celebrates beauty.
Anything that is not beautiful will never belong in the Circus.
