Ύλη[matter]HYLE is a semipublic space in the center of Athens aiming to bring together art, politics and sciences as an undisciplined field of thought, action and living. The greek word ΎΛΗ means matter, and it is pronounced like hyle. In 2013 discussions regarding the space’s mission took place through the building of its two virtual platforms (main: hyle.gr and archive: hyle.mobi) and have continued since, after its physical manifestation in the spring of 2015. It is a semipublic space in the center of Athens, at Omonia square that aims to bring together art, politics and sciences as if their coexistence is a new undisciplined field of thought, action and living, yet without knowing its name. Ύλη[matter]HYLE is an independent organism of people, animals, machines and ideas.
