Last days to see Douglas Knesse’s Douglas Knesse exhibition “Dreaming was not enough”.
What emerges from the paintings is not an image of tranquillity, but a reflection on a society perpetually searching for a better elsewhere.
Both cities , Rio and Athens, occupy a complex position within the global imagination: celebrated for their beauty, mythology, and symbolic significance, yet marked by the realities and contradictions of everyday life. By bringing these places into dialogue, Knesse examines the mechanisms through which paradise is imagined and desired.
On view till Saturday, July 25 📍 .
