We are very happy to announce that Idmon's Aegis' sophomore full-length album “Ad Gloriam” is finally finished and ready to be unleashed this autumn through Eat Metal Records!
Even before the release of our debut album, and while searching for appropriate person to fill the drum duties, the band focused on developing both old and new ideas, resulting in a number of songs, some of which would eventually become "Ad Gloriam".
With the arrival of Manos Kechagias in 2025 and the energy he brought behind the drumkit, the arrangements were taken to a whole new level, allowing the album to finally take the appropriate shape with the following tracks:
-March on, Metal Crusade
(Music: Chris M./Lyrics: Nick V.)
-Ad Gloriam
(Music/Lyrics: Nick V.)
-Triple Prodigy
(Music: Yiannis Ts./Lyrics: Nick V.)
-The First Rebellion
(Music/Lyrics: Yiannis Ts.)
-Act of Pythian God
i. In Templum Dei
ii. Finalis Actum (The Last String Warble)
(Music/Lyrics: Nick V.)
-Madness of Proetides
(Music: Chris M./Lyrics: Nick V.)
-Victa Iacet Virtus
(Music/Lyrics: Yiannis Ts.)
Every song carries a special significance, and some of them have been with us for decades like the title track which was originally conceived back in 1993! "Madness of Proetides" has also existed for more than a decade and was the first song from this album we fully rehearsed. "The First Rebellion" and "Victa Iacet Virtus" were originally written in 2011 and 2003 respectively, in different versions from the ones presented here. Both have now been thoroughly reworked into their definitive form.
A journey the band made to Delos a couple of years ago, along with the magic surrounded on the island and the ever-coming water inspired "Act of Pythian God". Finally, "Triple Prodigy" and "March on, Metal Crusade" are brand-new compositions that complete the musical identity of this album.
"Ad Gloriam" was mixed and mastered by George Papageorgiou at Dark Sun Studios in Athens, delivering an amazing result. The album artwork was created by the most talented Martin of LGN.Nekropropaganda who has once again shocked us with his work and we feel privileged to have such an incredible cover accompanying this release.
We can't wait to bring these new songs to the stage and see you all in Athens in Metal Without Mercy Fest!
