Artfight 2024! Yes I am uploading everything now, sue me! This was my 2024's first Revenge piece! Coloring was chaos and I had so much fun with the details! I'm glad I had the pleasure to play DnD with Sol and her character Luyten! I saw this beast up close and I'd like to think we had so much fun!

"Shade! Hide!"

For those who don't know, I'm currently employed (part-time) as a Game Master for a few TTRPG parties of children! Not mentally "children" btw... Yeah I work for a company that created a brand new TTRPG aimed at kids between the ages of 6 to 12.

One of the parties faced off a hooded creature composed completely by living shadow. It's called a "Shade", a shadow construct with the ability to ensnare its targets with tentacle-like appendages and then syphon their life-force! However, it has a glaring weakness... I'm sure you can figure it out!

This is how I started the year. With the challenge. I wasn’t in the mood for finishing it but I wanted to make something. This challenge was created by , and !

The prompts drawn were as follows:

Day 1: Karkinos
Karkinos was a giant crab that was sent to tire out Heracles right before his fight with the Hydra. It's been said that Heracles kicked the thing so hard it was embedded in the sky, forming the Cancer constellation.

Day 2: Kitsune
"Kitsune" means "fox" but in the context of this challenge it refers to mythical foxes from Japanese folklore and mythology. One of my favorite Kitsune is the "Kuda-Kitsune", a fox so small that could fit in a bamboo pipe. It has various magical abilities.

Day 3: Tulkun
The Tulkun is a giant whale-like creature from the movie "Avatar: The Way of Water". They are intelligent aquatic creatures and, much like the Na'vi, they form their own societies and cultures in the planet of Pandora.

“Yno-Raptor”
My 1st Attack during Art Fight was on Huskwolf1’s character! The amorphous and mysterious original material was realy intriguing! I think i would love to post something similar at some point for anyone who wants to freestyle on a character that much!
Even though clearly winged it looked to me like it would be capable of terrestrial locomotion, assisted by the forelimbs, with a running style similar to a velociraptor (Long stretched tail for balance, winged forlimbs for trajectory control ect).
I’m pretty proud of the end result!
