Delivering a role on stage in a theatre (without the use of microphones, which I detest) is not the same as delivering a role for a film.  Being “on your voice“  demands discipline: daily warm-ups to ensure that you are present with your body, your breath, the text, the surroundings, and your fellow actors. And of course, it demands serious vocal warmups. Discipline is immediately evident in the actor. 
I would like to applaud the discipline and beautiful progress which I witnessed in several actors who performed in a play that I recently directed: The Love of the Nightingale by Timberlake Wertenbaker. These are actors who have been studying present voice craft with me for some time. 
Integrating vocal skills with presence, body movement, and breath is not something that can be learned quickly. One must develop new habits, and indeed, some of these habits are psychological! I continue to believe, and teach, that learning these skills is about becoming who we are, as human beings created in the image of God.  Congratulations to these amazing young actors on your outstanding performances, reflection of your dedication and hard work:
