An exciting jazz encounter in the heart of Rhodes‘ old town!

On Saturday, 24 October, 21:00, Rhodes & South Aegean International Jazz Festival welcomes the acclaimed 🇦🇹Austrian saxophonist and composer Guido Spannocchi, joining in on the 2026 RIJF theme, "Jazz Across the Water - Mediterranean Bridges".

The audience of Rhodes and music lovers of the Austrian Greek Music Summer will enjoy an evening with Guido Spannocchi sharing the stage with an inspiring group of vocalists and musicians. The unique ensemble, created especially for this occasion, features musicians Eleonora Roussou, Gent Rushi, Dimitrios Vassilakis, Nestor Vassilakis, Şenay Lambaoğlu, Lakis Tzimkas and Kostas Anastasiadis, who will perform at the stunning Church of the Virgin of the Burgh. Through dialogue and improvisation, they will blend in a cross-cultural, multi-generational experience, embodying the essence and philosophy of Jazz!

With the support of the Hellenic Ministry of Culture and the Austrian Embassy Athens, under the auspices of the Greek National Tourism Organisation, co-organised by the South Aegean Region and Municipality of Rhodes (DOPAR), and supported by the Ephorate of Antiquities of the Dodecanese.

Strings in Motion (SiM) continue to thrive and inspire the next generation of musicians! 🎻

On 30 September , the 🇦🇹🇬🇷 SiM took the stage at Komotini Concert Hall with a inspiring repertoire of classical and contemporary compositions.
Addressing the audience, Ambassador Gerda Vogl highlighted the value of connecting outstanding young Greek musicians who have established successful careers abroad with the most promising emerging talent of today.

During their time in Northern Greece, talented students from the Music Schools of Komotini and Drama had the opportunity to work together with SiM in order to gain valuable knowledge, hands-on experience and the confidence to adapt, express and develop their talent on stage.
The initiative was supported by Stegi Politismou AMTH S.A. Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and the Austrian Embassy Athens as part of the Austrian Greek Music Summer.

End of September brought to the Austrian-Greek Music Summer also two great musical opportunities for the dedicated ADF audience!

Within this year’s edition of Athens Democracy Forum (ADF), the wonderful Callias Ensemble based in Vienna performed for the very first time “Octocorallia” by composer Alexander Maria Wagner and under the artistic guidance of Jan Moritz Onken on the spectacular rooftop of Athens City Hall.
On the following day, the Stoa of Attalos offered a very historic setting for harpist Anneleen Lenaerts and her work “Metamorphosis Formae”.

We thank the inspiring artists for the two memorable evenings and the Athens Democracy Forum, the Austrian Federal Ministry of Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport as well as as the German and the Belgian Embassies in Athens for the collaboration!

Join us on 16 October at the Goethe Institute Athen, for "The Answer is No", an unexpected interdisciplinary sound project presented live at Noise Words Festival! Voice, electronics and noise meet in a performance of extreme symmetry and sound reflection.
"The Answer is No" brings together 🇦🇹 Vienna based Ursula Winterauer (aka Gischt) and Slovanian vocalist and composer Maja Osojnik in a noice/ experimental dialogue of acoustic and electronic textures, using fragmented speech, vocals and looping phrases to blur the boundaries between performer, instrument and listener.
Their music moves from composition to improvisation, offering one of the most dynamic and unconventional concert experiences of the 2026 AGMS music program!

The concert, is part of Noise Words festival organised by Goethe Institute Athens, in collaboration with the London Guildhall School of Music and Drama, supported by the British Council, the Austrian Embassy Athens and hosted at the Goethe Institute Athen and KET.

Incredible evening in Skiathos for the audience of the 🇦🇹🇬🇷 Austrian- Greek Music Summer!

On 20 September, the courtyard of the Chapel of St George on Skiathos island opened to an enthusiastic audience for an evening of chamber music shaped by the energy and virtuosity of the young artists of Strings in Motion, under the artistic direction of Professor Christos Kanettis.
The demanding program brought together the elegance of the Classical era, the depth of Romanticism, the refined sounds of early 20th-century music and contemporary Greek repertoire.
Austrian Commercial Counsellor Christoph Sturm highlighted in the greetings the significance of musical cultural dialogue.
Later, Skiathos Municipality Philharmonic joined Strings in Motion on stage for a musical dialogue through the common performance of a piece.

Congratulations to our wonderful artists and thank you to the organizers and supporters, in particular the Municipality of Skiathos, the Cultural Association “SKIATHOS” and Lago Skiathos!

You are invited to a special musical journey from Danube to Evros!

On Saturday, 3 October at 20:00, the Municipal Theater of Soufli welcomes the young musicians of 🎻Strings in Motion (SiM) Mozarteum University Salzburg - EUREGIO for the concert "From the Danube to Evros, Expression meets Virtuosity", under the direction of the acclaimed professor Christos Kanettis.
The concert is part of this year's European Birdwatch (EuroBirdwatch), bringing Soufli and northern Evros close to the themes of nature, migration and music 🎵.
As the Municipality of Soufli notes, it is "a journey of discovery, beginning with migratory birds and leading to the classical melodies of Europe - an experience through nature and music that transcends time and borders, connecting people and cultures."
Warm congratulations to the organisers of this special concert, the Municipality of Soufli, in collaboration with the Musical Society of Alexandroupoli and Stegi Politismou, Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace.

We welcome October with an inspiring musical encounter across eras!
🎻Strings in Motion (SiM) of the Mozarteum University Salzburg presents "Mozart and Schubert in dialogue with Late Romanticism" on Friday, 2 October, 21:00 at Ramanda Plaza Thraki, Alexandroupoli.
Under the direction of the acclaimed professor Christos Kanettis, the concert will focus on contrasts between the Viennese Classical tradition and late Romanticism, concluding with film music by the the celebrated Italian composer Nino Rota.
Strings in Motion brings to Alexandroupoli a vibrant ensemble of young musicians from diverse musical and cultural backgrounds. The concert is organised by the Municipality of Alexandroupolis and the Stegi Politismou, Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, with support of the Austrian Embassy Athens.
Join us for an evening of music dialogue and discovery!

The music experience extends beyond the concert itself.
Earlier that day, a masterclass in musical interpretation and chamber music will take place at the Music School of Alexandroupoli, organised in collaboration with the Greek Ministry of Education, bringing participating musicians together with local students as a part of the wider educational and cultural exchange program.

We close our September concerts ｡♪ with a special evening at the International Festival of Church Organ & Music of St. Francis of Rhodes (Διεθνές Φεστιβάλ Εκκλησιαστικού Οργάνου και Μουσικής Αγίου Φραγκίσκου Ρόδου).
On Wednesday, 30 September at 20:00, the 14th International Organ Festival of Rhodes will host the distinguished 🇦🇹 Austrian organist Klaus Sonnleitner for a recital dedicated to Anton Bruckner and 19th-century Austrian sacred music, performed on Greeces's largest church pipe organ.
The program features works by Bruckner, Johann Baptist Wieß and Johann Haydn, two improvisations inspired by Bruckner's themes and sketches, Rudolf Bibl's Trauerfuge, a musical homage to Johannes Brahms, together with works connecting Bruckner's music with significant moments in Austrian history.
Klaus Sonnleitner brings his expertise in Bruckner and the great Austrian organ tradition to Rhodes.!

With the 800th anniversary of the passing of St. Francis of Assisi, the 14th International Organ Festival of Rhodes takes on special significance this year.
The festival is organised by the Catholic Church of Rhodes, with the blessing of the Archiepiscopal Commissioner of the Catholic Archdiocese of Rhodes, Fr. Luke Gregory OFM nunder the artistic direction of Christos Paraskevopoulos, with Aris Nikolis as Assistant Artistic Director and Master Class coordinator.

Back to the strings, back on stage!
This Wednesday, 30 September at 20:30, 🇦🇹🇬🇷 Strings in Motion (SiM) Academy of Mozarteum University Salzburg-EUREGIO comes to Komotini Concert Hall for an evening of classical elegance & dramatic virtuosity, and works exploring the emotional realities of contemporary life.
The concert is held under the guidance and direction of Christos Kanettis, founder and artistic director of Strings in Motion, under the auspices of the Austrian Embassy Athens in collaboration with the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and Stegi Politismou AMTH S.A. 🎼

As a part of the day's program, students from the Music Schools of Drama and Komotini will join a Masterclass of Interpretation and Chamber music, before taking the stage that evening to present the work developed during the workshop.

In only a few days, we will step into the European Cultural Center of Delphi, a historic epicenter of Greek intellectual and cultural life, for an evening with the exceptional young Strings in Motion (SiM) Academy of the Mozarteum University Salzburg.

On Sunday, 27 September at 18:30, SiM and audience will meet at Phrynihos Hall for a program that brings together centuries, musical traditions and styles, from Iason Tzanakos's Thoughts on a Melody, to masterpieces my Mozart, Fauré, Dimopoulos, Schubert, Chausson and Rota, under the artistic guidance of internationally acclaimed Greek violinist and pedagogue Christos Kanettis.

The evening will combine virtuosity, youthful energy and a diverse string repertoire, with classical works in dialogue with contemporary pieces, reflecting the spirit of Delphi as a timeless meeting point of ideas, cultures and generations.
