Interview with Digital Artist Yiannis Siemos
26 May 2026
Today I would like to present the acclaimed digital artist, Ioannis Siemos, also known as Yianart.
I come more from the world of fine art, so I’m very interested in how the artistic process translates into the digital environment. I’d like us to begin with your journey and then move on to the process, the technology, and your relationship with the audience.
How did your relationship with art begin?
My journey began through graphic design and gradually evolved into the world of photorealistic 3D art and abstract digital creation. From a young age, I was fascinated by imagery, colors, and the way a creation can convey emotion.
Over the years, I realized that art for me was not simply a profession, but a way to express thoughts, emotions, and ideas. Through each work, I try to create an experience that makes the viewer pause for a moment and feel something different. I believe that art has the power to unite people from different cultures and create genuine connection.
When did you realize you wanted to pursue art professionally?
My professional path began through graphic design, but very quickly I was captivated by the world of digital art and 3D design. That’s where I felt I could create without limitations and explore new worlds through art. Every new project is an opportunity for me to evolve and experiment with something different.
Was there an artist, artwork, or experience that influenced you significantly?
My influences come from many different things. Music, cinema, human psychology, and contemporary digital culture strongly affect the way I create. Many times, a feeling or an image from everyday life can become the inspiration for a new artwork.
I especially enjoy transforming abstract thoughts and emotions into visual experiences.
Do you feel you belong more to the world of fine art, design, or digital culture?
I feel that I exist somewhere between all of these worlds. My foundation began with design and graphic arts, which greatly influenced the way I organize imagery, composition, and the aesthetics of my work. At the same time, my need for personal expression and emotional depth brings me closer to the philosophy of fine art.
Digital culture is also a very important part of my identity because I grew up in an era where technology and the internet changed the way we create and communicate. So I would say that my work is a combination of all three elements. I’m not particularly fond of boundaries between categories; I believe contemporary art can combine different media and influences without limitations.
