MEDinART is a global and continuously growing network of 175 artists inspired by aspects (images, concepts, practices and technologies) of biomedical sciences. Unique in its content and character, MEDinARΤ aims are to link biomedical sciences with arts, to unite biomedical-inspired artists, to increase public awareness on scientific issues, to connect different countries and cultures though the un

iversal language of SciArt, to globalise the biomedical-inspired art movement and to open up a fruitful dialogue between science, art and society. MEDinART is an independent project that was launched at the main stage of TEDMEDLive Athens 2013 and since then it is constantly expanding around the globe promoting the bio-medical inspired art movement in international events, conferences, exhibitions, interviews and articles in newspapers/magazines. MEDinART has been presented through video projections and invited talks in International events and conferences in Europe (Belgium, Denmark, Greece, Switzerland), Kazakhstan as well as Saint Louis and Atlanta, USA. MEDinART has been collaborated and co-organised Science/Art events with International art organisations: ΤΕDMEDLive Athens (2013), Fabrica Vitae (2014-today), BIOMAB (2014-today), Andreas Syggros Museum (2015), Vesalius Continuum (2015), Interalia Magazine-UK (2016-today), CardioMED2016 (2016), SciArt Magazine-New York (2017), Athens Science Festival (2017), as well as governmental bodies (Embassy of Belgium in Athens, Kazakhstan and Copenhagen). web: www.medinart.eu

✨Announcement for all art and biomedical imaging enthuciasts ✨

artISBI2024 invites participants to go beyond conventional concepts of medical imaging and image analysis and show their artistic abilities.

The contest is open to scientists and/or artists, and to anyone with an interest in art inspired by the topics of ISBI2024, including the mathematical, algorithmic, and computational aspects of biological and biomedical imaging, and its clinical applications.
Registration for ISBI2024 is not mandatory for contest participants.
Voting for the best artwork is allowed only to ISBI2024 registered participants.

The creativity, the scientific complexity and technical skills, the aesthetic appeal, and originality of the concept, as well as the relevance to ISBI2024 topics, will be taken into consideration for the selection of the winners.

🏆 Up to three prizes will be awarded, including publication on the cover of a journal special issue associated with ISBI2024, a bio-inspired necklace by LaB Bio-conceptual creations, and micro life art by Maria Lambropoulou printed on canvas or silk (scarf) or book.

All finalists will receive recognition through ISBI2024 social media, and their works will be presented in the blog and Facebook of MEDinART. Selected works will be submitted for inclusion in the Cell Picture Show hosted by Cell Press, Nature, and the Image of the Day hosted by The Scientist magazine, National Geographic, Popular Science.
