Haos Film was founded in 1997 at the University of Texas in Austin by director Athina Rachel Tsangari and writer/editor Matt Johnson, to develop their graduation thesis into the feature film The Slow Business of Going (2001). Haos relocated to Greece in 2007, and quickly grew into a cooperative, filmmaker-run company considered a springboard for the “New Greek Wave”. Both a production and post pro
duction house, it provides a full range of services, from head to tail—production, editing, color grading, and DI. Producing credits include Yorgos Lanthimos’ first feature “Kinetta” (2005), “Alps” (2011) and Athina Rachel Tsangari’s “Attenberg” (2010) and “Chevalier” (2015). Other artistic highlights include the video projections for the 2004 Athens Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies, and the large-scale mapping projections for the opening of the new Acropolis Museum. Haos is currently developing Athina Rachel Tsangari’s action/screwball comedy "White Knuckles", and the screen adaptation of Jane Bowles' iconic novel "Two Serious Ladies".
