🖤 25 Νοεμβρίου – Ημέρα για την Εξάλειψη της Βίας κατά των Γυναικών. Throwback στο έργο “Archives of Abuse” (1991–1992) της Susan Meiselas.
📸🚨 H Susan Meiselas καταγράφει εδώ και σχεδόν πέντε δεκαετίες φλέγοντα κοινωνικά και πολιτικά ζητήματα σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο.
📂 Στο Archives of Abuse, ασχολείται με το θέμα της ενδοοικογενειακής βίας. Στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1990, κλήθηκε να υποστηρίξει στο Σαν Φρανσίσκο μια δημόσια εκστρατεία ευαισθητοποίησης. Ξεκίνησε να φωτογραφίζει σκηνές εγκλήματος, συνοδεύοντας μια ομάδα εξειδικευμένων αστυνομικών ερευνητών, και επέλεξε έγγραφα με φωτογραφίες από τα αρχεία του αστυνομικού τμήματος του Σαν Φρανσίσκο.
Η έρευνα αυτή οδήγησε στη δημιουργία των κολάζ Archives of Abuse, τα οποία αναρτήθηκαν σε δημόσιους χώρους για να ευαισθητοποιήσουν τους πολίτες σχετικά με τις πολλές και διαφορετικές μορφές βίας κατά των γυναικών ως δομικό φαινόμενο.

Throwback to Archives of Abuse (1991–1992) by Susan Meiselas for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. 🖤
Susan Meiselas has spent nearly five decades documenting global social and political issues.
In her project, 'Archives of Abuse,' Susan Meiselas addresses the issue of domestic violence. In the early 1990s, the photographer was invited to support a public campaign in San Francisco to raise awareness about the subject.
📂 She began by photographing crime scenes, accompanying a team of specialised police investigators, and selecting a number of documents with photographs from the archives of the San Francisco Police Department. This research led her to create Archives of Abuse, a series of collages based on police reports and forensic photographs, which were posted in public spaces to raise people’s awareness of the many different forms of violence towards women as a structural phenomenon.
