The work is a survey into layers upon layers of destruction, pushing the imagery deeper in the direction of chaos. Combining the physical damage caused by the fire with the digital corruption of the recorded files, the work ponders the line between beauty and violence, and creation and
decay, with entropy at its core. Sound piece in collaboration with Jonatán Pastirčák.

Dirty Daddies’ Legacy, 2024
Purified Used Soap from the Wealthy, on iron structure base
150 x 50 x 23 cm

Purification is never neutral. Soap cleanses, but what does it erase? Once lathered onto bodies of the
rich in luxury hotels, discarded soap carries the residue of excess, privilege, and power. Stripped,
reformed, rationed—it becomes a fragmented archive of touch and status, moving between those
who take and those who inherit the used. In a city shaped by over-tourism and exclusion, where
history stands in grandeur while the present unravels, the act of cleansing reveals more than it hides.

A Slow Violence,2023
Two Archival Inkjet Prints, mounted on Dibond
49,5 x 73 cm

A Slow Violence by Alexandra Rose Howland reveals fire as a force stretched over time—eroding
land and labor, leaving behind a toxic inheritance of industry, and exposing the creeping damage
when governments abandon those on the margins. Fire doesn’t always announce itself in
flames; sometimes, it lingers in the air, water, and lungs. This project traces the deep,
interconnected struggles for survival across physical, social, and environmental bodies amid
climate collapse. As a threat multiplier, climate change amplifies inequalities, drives poverty
cycles, worsens health crises, and exposes systemic failures—forcing communities into
relentless survival.

“When cages fly” by

The underlying story, “Where Prison Is a Kind Of Freedom,” originally featured in sheds light
on the lives of women incarcerated for liberating themselves from abusive and violent marriages
through drastic measures. This book navigates the delicate balance between freedom and captivity,
both physical and metaphorical.

Divided into three compelling chapters with minimal textual intervention and accompanied with a
supplementary booklet, encourages viewers to engage actively in crafting their own
interpretations of the depicted reality. Central to the book’s thematic exploration is an enclosed
middle chapter, a metaphorical prison.

Panagiotis Kefalas's paintings delve into the dynamics of human connection and alienation within political and social histories. His work captures figures suspended in political gestures, embodying power that is both invisible and materially present. By documenting themes of melancholy and isolation, Kefalas reveals subtle forms of exclusion permeating networks of spaces and screens. In his compositions, fire serves as a potent metaphor for the eruption of power—depicting global leaders engulfed in rhetorical flames, leaving behind shadows of destruction.

State of Emergency by

State of Emergency - Harakati za Mau Mau kwa Haki, Usawa na Ardhi Yetu is an ongoing documentary project in collaboration with Mau Mau war veterans and Kenyans who survived colonial atrocities. In the form of in-person reenactments, or ‘demonstrations’, together they (re)visualise the fight for independence from British colonial rule in the 1950s, manifesting their past experiences in the present with a future audience in mind.
With most of the colonial archives deliberately destroyed, hidden or manipulated, this project attempts to shine a light on this history’s blind spots by creating new ‘imagined records’ that fill in the missing gaps of historical archives.
State of Emergency interweaves fragmentary colonial archives, photographs of architectural and symbolic remnants from the past, mass grave sites, demonstrations and the testimonies of people who experienced and survived the war themselves.

The forms, ritually melting together with the burning candles and changing matter, pass from existence to non-existence or to a new materiality. Burning is seen as a transgression, but ultimately it can also be seen as the only way, as a mechanism of spontaneous combustion, where anything is potential.

The smell of the candle, the vibration of the sound and the flickering of the flame surrounds the space. The melted or extinguished candles are not renewed, but only added, with the aim of keeping the installation active throughout the exhibition.

Jaune nuit
Rose olive

As the light shifts, colors and fragments of hidden images are revealed, only to disappear as quickly as they come. A quiet fire, imperceptible yet ever-present. Each subtle shift in perspective becomes a revelation.
A play of light—fire’s trace—but in the absence of flame.

‘BRDG’, 2015
Fuji Instant Color Film, FP-100C
50 x 40 x 2.5 cm (framed)

‘BRDG’ consists of photographs of the iconic 6th Street Viaduct in Los Angeles. The artist captured these images just before its destruction. A photographic material that like the bridge itself is a relic and exists more as a monument of past ideas and ideologies. Ventourakis explores the memory of place, documenting monuments uncannily familiar yet no longer exist.

"The Last Safe Abortion" by .winant

The Last Safe Abortion recognises the care, advocacy, and community-building of abortion workers, focusing on the near-fifty-year period in which abortion was legal in the United States (1973–2022).
This book is a powerful visual archive of resilience, resistance, and care. Through photography, text, and personal accounts, it traces the shifting landscapes of reproductive rights, documenting the people, places, and moments that define the fight for bodily autonomy. A necessary book for a time when history feels dangerously close to repeating itself.

Breath, 2022
Raku fired glazed Clay
16 x 15 x 20

Breath captures the intensity of fire and reduction through the Raku technique. A symbolic portrait of a woman, its defining feature, a hole at the mouth, becomes the sole point of release, resistance, and survival during firing. The surface bears the raw traces of transformation, shaped by fire, thermal shock, and absence of oxygen.
