Ανοιχτό Κάλεσμα

Η γκαλερί MOMO Athens, σε συνεργασία με την οργάνωση ArteKunstArt, καλεί εικαστικούς καλλιτέχνες να υποβάλουν αίτηση συμμετοχής στην έκθεση με τίτλο “/blæk/”, που θα λάβει χώρα από τις 18 Δεκεμβρίου 2025 έως τις 25 Ιανουαρίου 2026.

Για την υποβολή των αιτήσεων, οι καλλιτέχνες καλούνται να στείλουν email με τίτλο “BLACK” στο [email protected], παρέχοντας τις παρακάτω πληροφορίες:
(1) Έως τρεις (3) φωτογραφίες υψηλής ανάλυσης σε μορφή (.jpeg) για κάθε υποβαλλόμενο έργο, ο αριθμός των οποίων δεν πρέπει να ξεπερνάει τα τρία (3). Οι τίτλοι των φωτογραφιών θα πρέπει να αντιστοιχούν στον τίτλο του έργου.
(2) Πληροφορίες για κάθε έργο, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του τίτλου, έτους δημιουργίας, μέσων και διαστάσεων.
(3) Ονοματεπώνυμο καλλιτέχνη, email και τηλέφωνο επικοινωνίας, σύντομo artist statement και artist social media.

Deadline αιτήσεων: Κυριακή 7 Δεκεμβρίου, 23:59

Η αίτηση και συμμετοχή στην έκθεση είναι δωρεάν.

Οι συμμετέχοντες καλλιτέχνες θα ειδοποιηθούν μέσω email με το πέρας του deadline, οπότε και θα λάβουν περισσότερες πληροφορίες σχετικά με τη διεξαγωγή της έκθεσης και την παράδοση του έργου στον χώρο της MOMO Athens, Καλλέργη 4, Αθήνα, 10437.

Open Call

MOMO Athens art gallery, in association with ArteKunstArt, is calling visual artists of all media to submit a participation application to the exhibition titled “/blæk/”, which is going to take place from 18th December 2025 to 25th January 2026.

In order to submit their artwork, the artists are asked to send an email titled “BLACK” to [email protected], with the following information:
(1) Up to three (3) high resolution images in (.jpeg) for each submitted artwork, the number of which should be up to three (3). The image titles should match the work titles.
(2) Information about each artwork submitted, including title, year completed, media and size.
(3) Artist full name, email and phone number, short artist statement and artist social media accounts.

Submission deadline: Sunday 7th December, 23:59

The submission and participation to the exhibition are free.

After the submissions deadline, the participant artists will be notified via email with more information about the exhibition, as well as the artwork drop-off to MOMO Athens, Kallergi 4, Athens, 10437.

🖤🖤🖤 This Friday…!

We were looking for the right space to organize the performative gathering we our touring with. A place that, especially here in Athens, feels important because we spent quite some time in this city, discovering our collaboration has the potential to be one. A place where we can act very openminded as art can be hard to grasp, especially when it functions as a highlight in art history which will most probably be the case here. And while looking all over town we discovered yesterday that the perfect spot was hiding right under our noses.

This Friday the 28th of October we propose you to meet in the street where we had our space, Kallergi 4 in Metaxourgio.

Lets meet there around 20:00 and please be exactly on time as we will do something very uncomfortable which is totally fine as we are artists anyway.

Explorations in Latex and Stone by Ella Jo Skinner

The flesh of Himation (explorations in Latex and Stone) is the first solo exhibition by Welsh audio-visual artist Ella Jo Skinner. During her recent time spent in Athens, Skinner has been influenced by the ethereal folds of the himation and chiton worn by the marble statues of the Korai, the maidens of the Acropolis in Ancient Greece.

Working with latex and the flesh of human bodies in contrast to digital photographs of these stone garments, Skinner has created a playful juxtaposition between the softness of bodies and the harshness of the stone.

Specialising in installation, Ella Jo Skinner seeks to create visceral environments in which art is to be experienced rather than contextualised. Included in the exhibition is a sound piece, “The Confession Box”, initially performed at Islington Mill, Manchester, UK in July 2022.

In this piece, Skinner recorded herself repenting her sins at different Confession Boxes in Catholic Churches and Cathedrals in Greater Manchester. This piece, in relation to images of the Goddesses and Priestesses of Greek Antiquity, connotes a journey that takes the viewer from the confines of a Pseudo-Christian Capitalistic society to a magical pagan past.

“FROM AFAR”
- Artist Amanda Wilson through this exhibition will reference her perspective as an American woman watching her rights go up in flames while being abroad in Europe. While she is out of the direct line of fire currently she is able to evaluate how the USA’s system of government has truly failed her.

She is not overwhelmed by conversation and protest in person, only reading and digesting opinions and articles online. The distance she, at the moment has to the US is allowing her to process the implications this legislation carries. Additionally, being currently surrounded by Europeans with strong opinions about America’s hypocrisy her experiences here have been very eye opening and only bolstering her frustration towards her country.

With Manon Beretti Prenant’s supervision and curation, they will share their experiences and opinions about this issue though Amanda Wilsons works. Both Artist Amanda and Curator Manon feel that women are constantly exploited and subjected to violating experiences through unjust medical care, coercive sexual experiences, and objectification that begins even before puberty.

They will will use this exhibition as a safe space for outspoken support of femininity in direct protest to laws that strip women of their bodily rights.
