Hotel description:
Two Coconut Lodge is situated at Batokunku.A small quiet village at the smiling coast.
This cozy, lovely lodge has everything to get relaxed and inspired!
Good pool, lounge and relax garden, natural food (European, vegan, Gambian, fresh fish and meat and exquisite juices), great rooms in all sizes with fan and airco .
In two minutes’ walk you have your feet in the sand of the most beautiful beach of The Gambia.
The airport is 40 minutes’ drive and you are also 30 minutes away from the buzzing touristic site of Senegambia.
All excursions are made from Two Coconut Lodge.

The rates are for all season …all of the year is great at Two Coconut Lodge …even the rainy season is a wonderful time with all the green that pops out of the earth with amazing flowers and fantastic animals.
The warm rain is a shower where you can swim in!

We provide a tasteful menu going from Gambian traditional dishes up to fish and chips to vegan food.
The vegetables are all of our own biblical garden.
Eve cooks with an artistic touch of happiness…a magic touch of love is added to our food and gives you all the energy you need.

-CASAGAMBIA TRIP
This one-day trip brings you first to the mosque of Gunjur situated next to a typical fishing place.
You move further to Kartong with the Halahin river that separates Gambia with the Casamance (Senegal)
You get fantastic food at Dodo’s restaurant at the side of the river.
Then you will take a boat up to the Casamance to have a walk through the exquisite area with typical village life surrounded by ancient baobab trees and rice fields.
Back for coffee at dodo’s and a drive (45 minutes) to Two Coconut Lodge
-KUNTAH KINTEH
You will be dropped off at Banjul harbor to take a boat up the Gambia River going east.
It is a big, relaxing boat with inside and outside deck.
Arriving at Juffereh you get a tour through the village of Kuntah Kinteh where the first slaves were captured. A local museum tells you the horrors of that time.
As these slaves did long time ago you will be brought with a smaller boat to James Island.This fortress (or the remains) will show you how terrible these slaves were treated before going on the galleons up to America.
After a great lunch you sail back to Banjul harbor and with some luck you see the dolphins swimming next to the ship

-INCREDDIBLE BIRD WATCHING MANGROVE SUNSET TOUR
This is national geographic live!
After an amazing ride with a four by four to Kubuneh village you can let your body float on the salty, warm water of the mangroves.
Some oysters and wine as apero!
Captain Lamin guides you to an amazing spot and wonder of nature.
Birds from all over the Gambia gather at sunset to this single tree that stands alone in the water.
Hundreds of fantastic species of birds fly to this tree to get a safe sleep.
While you drink your wine or soft drink with some appetizers you are witness of a miracle of nature.

-BABOON ISLAND/JANJANBUREH
This 2-day trip brings you up country.
After a 3,5 hour drive up to janjanbureh you get a traditional Gambian dish before sleeping next to the Gambian river in beautiful nature.
Next day you go with a boat up to Baboon island to see the Chimps and hippo’s!
Be careful not to swim to close to them!
After this amazing experience head back to Janjanbureh to have a well-earned sleep (after diner!)
Next morning back to Batokunku and stop on the way at Brikama wood market!

One day trip to the beauty of Makasutu
You encounter the life of the baboons in an incredible setting!
A guide shows you the different trees and there healing capacities.
A Marabou tells you your future.
Swim in the pool surrounded by palms and mangrove, climb up to a tower to have a look over the mangroves and baboon land.
James and Lawrence (two English cousins) created together with the people of Makasutu this fairytale place.
Next to this huge park there is Mandina lodge a number one ecological lodge also created by james and Lawrence.
Head back to Batokunku and visit Brikama wood market on your way home!

Amazing birds during your kayaking trip on the river Tanji…have lunch on the island and enjoy pelicans, kingfishers, yellow weavers and so on…
Visit the buzzing fishing place of Tanji with his markets, colourfull fishing perrogues and all smoking fish places…
