🍲 CELEBRATING FOOD, CULTURE & COMMUNITY! 🇬🇭

As part of the Black Star Experience, August was celebrated as “Food Month”—a time to explore, appreciate, and promote Ghana’s rich culinary heritage.

In the spirit of this celebration, staff of the Volta Regional Centre for National Culture (CNC) paid a visit to Agbenorxevi Chop Bar in Ho to experience and explore a wonderful selection of authentic local delicacies. 🍛🥘

Agbenorxevi Chop Bar is proudly recognised as one of the popular local food joints in Ho and a valued sponsor of the Volta Regional CNC.

From exploring the variety of dishes on offer to finally sitting down and enjoying the delicious meals, the experience was filled with culture, flavour, laughter, and togetherness.

It was more than just a meal—it was a celebration of Ghanaian food, heritage, and community. ❤️🇬🇭

A beautiful experience indeed, and we look forward to creating and sharing more moments like this!

To promote the Black Star Experience activities, VOLTA Regional Office of the Centre for National Culture has embarked on the promotion of the Enterprise Skills Training that is to come on in the month of September which the Arts month.

A team lead by the Regional Director Mrs. Lydia Nyarko-Ampomah and Mrs. Carmila Jones, Head of the Visual Arts Department and the various instructors to lead the training; was on air this morning on wings of Volta Star Radio 91.3 Mhs FM.

The 2026 ASOGLI YAM FESTIVAL has been officially launched at the Conference Hall of GNAT Hotel, marking the beginning of another exciting celebration of the rich cultural heritage, traditions and unity of the ASOGLI State.

This year’s festival is being celebrated under the powerful theme:

“UNITED IN PURPOSE, INVESTING IN PEOPLE AND INFRASTRUCTURE FOR SUSTAINABLE NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT.”

The launch was beautifully enriched by captivating cultural performances from traditional cultural groups across the ASOGLI State, showcasing the vibrant heritage, creativity and traditions that continue to define the people of ASOGLI.

As the countdown to the main festival begins, the 2026 ASOGLI YAM FESTIVAL promises to be a remarkable celebration of culture, unity, development and shared purpose.

Volta Regional Centre for National Culture Showcases Creative Excellence at Art Exhibition for Ho Technical University Industrial Attachment Students
‎
‎The Painting Unit of the Visual Arts Department at the Volta Regional Centre for National Culture (CNC) organized a vibrant art exhibition to celebrate the successful completion of the industrial attachment programme for students from Ho Technical University.
‎
‎The exhibition featured an impressive collection of paintings created by the graduating attachment students, highlighting their creativity, technical skills, and appreciation of Ghana's rich cultural heritage.
‎
‎In his opening remarks, the Head of the Painting Unit, Mr. Dela Adonu, welcomed guests and introduced the exhibition. The students then took turns presenting their artworks, explaining the inspiration and cultural significance behind each piece.
‎
‎The artworks explored a wide range of themes, including Ghanaian folklore, indigenous knowledge systems, traditional proverbs, Ewe symbols, and cultural values. Each painting reflected the unique identity, history, and traditions of the Ghanaian people while demonstrating the important role of visual arts in preserving and promoting cultural heritage.

‎The exhibition provided an enriching learning experience for staff members, National Service Personnel, and the attachment students. It created an opportunity for knowledge sharing, artistic appreciation, and meaningful discussions on the impact of painting as a powerful medium for cultural expression, education, and storytelling.

‎The Volta Regional Centre for National Culture remains committed to nurturing young artistic talents and promoting Ghana's diverse cultural heritage through visual arts, exhibitions, and creative education initiatives.
