DZODZE DEZA 2022

Dzodze is one of the beautiful towns in the Volta Region which shares a border with Togo. It’s a very beautiful and one of the very early towns in Southern Volta to have had a Hotel (White Dove Hotel).

DZODZE is made up of two words which describes the origin of their Ancestors which is an interesting story. DZO in the context of the name of the town means “To Fly or to Jump” and the DZE means “To land”.
The name Dzodze was therefore derived from the notion that the people of this town didn’t follow the migration routes of the Ewe people but then they claim to have mystically “Flew or Jumped and Landed” in their current location in the Ketu-North District of the Volta Region.

DEZA is the main Festival of the people of Dzodze to celebrate the abundant oil Palm Industry in the area.
DE means “Palm” and “ZA” means Festival and it would be celebrated from the 23rd of September with the main Durbar slated for the 1st of October.

This years Dzodze Deza promises to be a lot more interesting with MIKE Multimedia in collaboration with the Chiefs and People of Dzodze bringing back the much anticipated “MAMA DEZA” Beauty Pageantry slated for the 30th of September!!!
Extra innovative is the initiative to have one of the favorite Musicians from Dzodze by name Startick Tsite release a theme song for the Pageant titled “Your Queen”.

I tell you guys that’s we’ve got to make a trip to experience Dzodze and the beauty is beholds.
