*ACIC Wordlight Devotion*
*TOPIC: LOVE DOES NOT DISHONOUR OTHERS*
*Text: James 3:9-18*
We’ve read from I Corinthians 13:5 that love does not dishonor others. To dishonor someone means that you bring shame or disgrace to them or you insult them by your words or actions. It also means that you act unbecomingly or inappropriately towards them. We can dishonor others by what we say, how we say it, by our demeanors and our attitude.
It is crucial for the sake of others that we are aware of our conducts. As Christians, we are called to a high standard of living by God. When we treat others well, the world will see that we are unique. And we can say that God has helped us learn a better way, a way that is beautiful.
*Today’s Task*
Have you dishonoured your spouse, friend, family, or neighbour. Turn from your ways and ask for forgiveness from them.
*Prayer*
Pray for God’s forgiveness if you have been dishonouring others.
*Memory Verse*
James 3:10
Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.
