Series of research and consultations were done from 2007 to 2011 to examine the viability of the project. The project, which was known as Ghana History Book Project, was formally launched at Agona Swedru, in the Central Region of Ghana on 14th April, 2012. In February 2013, the name of the project was changed from Ghana History Book Project to Ghana State’s’ Book Project. The Project is designed t
o cover the histories of all the Traditional Areas in Ghana including religious bodies, industries, organizations, and other important areas worth to cover. The Ghana State Book Project is designed to document the histories and the cultural heritage of each traditional political unit in Ghana. The project intends to create books that, as far as possible, capture the histories of towns and villages, royal families and sub-families, lineage roots (what is referred to us “Family Tree”), religious systems, institutions, and the paths of development of the various indigenous political areas of Ghana.
